Stila's Stunning in Sayulita Palette. A Nice Mix of Neutrals!

Yes, yet another Stila palette to review. Well, they keep them coming! Stunning in Sayulita is a cute little mix of neutrals that is good for a day look but (yes, there is a but) the colors extremely shimmery. So, for those of you who are a little gun shy, you might want to skip this one.
The four eyeshadows are Starfish (lightest shimmery pink), Sandbar (dark shimmery brown), Getaway (light shimmery lilac) and Palm Tree (a light shimmery palm green). I have greenish-blue eyes and the colors work well on my eyes.
The blushes included are Playa (a matte coral) and Banderas Bay (a very light shimmery pinkish highlighter). I like that the blushes work well to contour the cheeks. In fact, I find that this seems to be the theme for all of the palettes.
Today, my look inlcudes Palm Tree in the crease, Sand Bar as a definer in the crease and on the outer edge of the lid and under the eye. I used Getaway on the lid and Starfish under the brow. I will say that Getaway barely shows up. All of the other colors have better payoff. I also used Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in No.4 (Diamond Lagoon Green), winging it all the way out and my mascara is Hard Candy's 1000 Lashes Mermaid Teal. Lipstick is MAC's La Di Bra.
This palette is available at www.stilacosmetics.com, Sephora, and Ulta. Like the others is is $14.00. I think they will be going on sale soon, since they are named the "Beach" palettes.

  2. I'm really not certain what you mean by payoff. Can you explain?

    Thanks!

  3. Donna,
Payoff means how much of the pigment in the product makes it onto your skin. An eyeshadow can look so pretty in the pan but if it goes on without so much as a whimper it hasn't any payoff.
We pay for pigment and payoff in the higher priced brands such as MAC, Urban Decay, Bobbi Brown, etc. I am also loving two lines that are fairly new: Inglot and Illamasqua. They have great pigment and payoff. Some drugstore brands are up there too. Surprisingly Wet n'Wild has some great eyeshadows out there at times. And, then they miss...
