I love that this palette has shadows, blush and some lipgloss. The look I put together today was a very nice one thanks to 4 of the 12 shadows that sit in the palette waiting unsuspectingly for anyone to say, “Hey, come and play!” It also has 4 blushes and 2 lipglosses. The shadows have 3 ranges, light, medium and dark. Within that there are not the usual suspects. The shadows on the swatches might look light but they actually performed!
I took swatches of the items in the Smokey Rose Palette. Now I will say that although they did not swatch well, the shadows did come out well on my eyes. Really the only thing that did swatch well were the glosses and the darker shadows.
For this look I wore the fuchsia in the crease and then I added a darker purple to define it. That darker purple was added on the outer edge of my lid and under my eye. Then I used the very light purple in the first grouping of shadows on my lid (it actually had a lot of pigment). Under my brow I used the light beigy-vanilla that is the first shadow in the group. I used Maybelline Volume Express Falsies mascara and Sephora Glitter Violet #15 liquid liner on my eyes. For blush I mixed the deep pink and pink highlighter color together. On my lips I used the very pretty peachy lipgloss.
I bought this palette of of Haute Look for $9.00 and I am glad I did. I love the quality of POP Beauty shadows for the price. I am sure it will pop up again on their site or you may find it at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s. It is nice when you can get some great beauty gems for a decent price!
