STILA ALL DAY 10-IN-1 HD BEAUTY BALM: REVIEW

100_1252

Everyone seems to be jumping on the Beauty Balm bandwagon these days, adding their own personal touches to the creams so that theirs are better than other companies. I decided to try Stila’s version, since they claimed it lasted all day and had 10 benefits! Stila’s runs $38.00 and comes in one color. It can be used as a primer or if you are fair enough, as a full on foundation. I am fair so I chose it to be my foundation.

Stila says it has microspheres that hide redness and skin imperfections, it is infused with emollients which increase antioxidant activity, it has ingredients which diminish fine lines and wrinkles, it has a long wearing, high-definition formula, it reduces pore size and provides oil and blemish control, it has a complex that reduces redness and skin irritation, the product uses the smallest particle size so that the pigments go on for seamless coverage, it has a silky powdery finish, it is ideal for all skin types and tones and finally it is oil free, paraben-free and dermatologist tested.

Those are a lot of claims to make for one little product. I have used it for a few days now, specifically as foundation. The color is a fair yellow tone. For pale folks like me, it could definitely be used as foundation instead of primer. I found that it covered beautifully. I had just a couple of small red areas I wanted covered and it did the job. Then I applied powder and my skin looked great. I think the price point is somewhat high though. That is common for the “BB” cream market. Most of these creams are expensive because they are popular right now. I like this cream but not for the full price. I will let you know that I purchased it through My Coke Rewards with my points. That made it 30% off. That makes it worth it. This cream is available through www.stilacosmetics.com, www.sephora.com, www.ulta.com, SEPHORA, and Ulta. Excuse the band-aid on my face, the nose pad from my glasses made a sore place and I am healing it. Would love to hear comments!

  1. The prices of beauty/blemish balms turn me off, too. Plus there are so many of them, I have zero idea which one really would fit me best. I'm a cheapskate like that :(

  2. It wouldn't be so bad if they all did what they said. But they are all very expensive, much more than regular foundation. Most are essentially glorified primers. Illamasqua makes a good one. But it is REALLY expensive!
