REVIEW: PETER THOMAS ROTH UN-WRINKLE PEEL PADS

As I mentioned in other posts, I am a huge fan of peels. Whether they be deep peels that make all the superficial layers of your skin peel off or light peels that you can use every day, I think peels are the perfect way to keep skin in good condition. While I would normally tout philosophy’s products, I also love Peter Thomas Roth’s products because they are of professional quality. They were developed for salon use and the ingredients are of the highest quality and the products work. I like products that work!

Today I am going to review the Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads. The Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads from Peter Thomas Roth  contain a 20% complex of alpha hydroxy (glycolic acid), beta hydroxy (salicylic acid) and amino acids that help to exfoliate, clarify, minimize pores and help zap free radicals in the skin. AHA's exfoliate the skin by allowing the skin cells to break away from each other and slough off. It is fragrance free and alcohol free. The large tub contains 90 pads and runs $58.00. I was lucky enough to get this for a promotional price, buy one get one half off. They also have a tub that contains 60 pads and costs $45.00. The directions say to wipe the pad over cleansed, dry skin and leave on for a minimum of 1 minute and up to 3 minutes. Depending on your skin type you can use the pads up to 5 times a week. Ideally they say your skin is best suited to using the peel and their Un-Wrinkle product. To neutralize the peel, run water over the face. Most importantly, don’t use these pads if using Retin-A. You might peel off too much skin and cause a fair amount of irritation!

I used it and found that it does sting a little, which I expected from the acids. My skin is used to peels so I left it on for a while and neutralized it. Afterward my skin felt very soft. I do feel that it does a good job of peeling the skin lightly, which is what this product is supposed to do. There was no irritation when I used them nor afterward. I really like these pads and feel that they are just a bit stronger than the philosophy ones. The Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads are available at www.peterthomasroth.com, www.sephora, www.skinstore.com, www.beauty.com and www.ulta.com. They are also available in Sephora and Ulta brick and mortar stores.
