This is the first of two reviews for the great holiday sets released by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I was lucky enough to get to try these sets and I am happy to say that these are amazing deals. Anastasia Beverly Hills has been flying under the radar with her brow products but she has been releasing some great eyeshadows and lipglosses that I really like. This set retails for $34.00 at www.anastasia.net or wherever Anastasia Beverly Hills is sold.

The Want You to Want Me is a kit within a clutch…a nod to the glam and decadence of the 1970’s. It is a cute black velvet clutch that contains an eyeshadow palette with nine eyeshadows, a black liquid eyeliner, a clear brow set gel and a double ended eyeshadow brush. The eyeshadows are a mix of matte and shimmers. The shadows are (from top left of the palette going right in each row): Platform Wedge (matte medium cream), Front Row Center (shimmery cream), Ziggy (shimmery cool lilac with silver shimmer), Members Only (matte medium warm brown), Power Ballad (shimmery cool taupe), Jellies (shimmery cool pink), Graphic T’s (shimmery cool deep taupe with gold shimmer), Brass In Pocket (shimmery copper) and Iron On (shimmery eggplant with pink shimmer). The first two colors are very light and don’t show up as well on my skin but would look good under the brow. Otherwise, the colors are pigmented.

The second set I tried that Anastasia Beverly Hills came out with this holiday season is an adorable gloss set with six lovely colors, called Kisses on My List. These are colors anyone would want to wear. Three of the colors are sheer, opalescent Ultra-hydrating glosses and three are new Hypercolor glosses that react with your skin’s chemistry to stain the lips a custom hue that is yours alone. The Ultra-hydrating formula has been shown to improve the lip’s moisture. One key ingredient is Brown Algae, which firms, hydrates and revitalizes the appearance of skin. The Balkan Botanical® Infusion is an exclusive antioxidant-rich complex helps soften that soothes and hydrates the skin. The set retails for $30.00 at www.anastasia.net or wherever Anastasia Beverly Hills is sold.

Each gloss is named after famous 70’s muses you won’t soon forget. The colors are as follows: Moi (matte coral), Maggie May (matte nude), Sharona (shimmery coral with gold), Lola (cool pink with gold shimmer), Jolene (warm pink shimmer with silver) and Roxanne (warm pink with gold shimmer).
Here are four different face charts that I am going to show you so you can do some of the looks recommended by the Anastasia Beverly Hills makeup artists.

I tried a variation of the Heart of Glass look. I took Brass in Pocket and used it all over the lid and under the brow. Then instead of Members Only in the crease, which on me would not be seen, I used Graphic T’s. I then used it under the eye to line. I used the liquid liner in Jet on top of the eye. I used one of the Hydracolor glosses in Lola from the Kisses on My List set. Below you can see my interpretation of the look:

The set is nice because it contains all neutrals, which is something everyone loves to have. Plus it is a mixture of shimmers and mattes. Both shadow types have good pigmentation and little to no fallout. The liquid eyeliner is nice too. I am wearing it here and you can see it looks nice, it went on very well. That makes me happy. I think it is definitely worth spending $34.00 on because you get the nine eyeshadows, the liquid eyeliner, brush and brow set gel. I see that as a good price point considering some of the other sets that are out this holiday season. I also like the Kisses on My List gloss set. I can never have too many glosses! I can see myself keeping this in my car for touch ups. The colors are all colors that anyone would use. The price is good, it works out to $5 a gloss, which is a good price point. The glosses have a nice sticky feel that will help keep them on the lips so they won’t just slide off right away. There is also good pigmentation in them. Both of these will make good gifts or nice little presents for yourself (yes, I know you do it!).
