Review: Jan Marini Skin Care Management System

DSC08429

I am very excited to be able to review the Jan Marini Skin Care Management System. As an esthetician I see the gamut of skin care lines and products, many of which don’t do what they promise. I have been trying out this line for a few weeks now and I am happy to say I have seen significant results in just a short time. Jan Marini has been in the skin care field for 35 years. Because of her experience she has been able to bring you a line with ingredients that will give you the results that they promise.

The Skin Care Management System is comprised of five core products: Bioglycolic Face Cleanser, C-Esta Face Serum, Bioglycolic Bioclear Face Lotion, Transformation Face Cream and Antioxidant Face Protectant SPF 30. She does have the Age Intervention Eye Cream available as a separate product. The system works by the layered technology approach, meaning that there are a variety of ingredients in the products to address the same skin concerns. The line takes care of fine lines, pigmentation, acne and rosacea. By using this technology everyone can be on the same system.

Step 1:

The Bioglycolic Face Cleanser has 12% glycolic acid to help resurface and refine the skin. Glycolic acid has the smallest of molecules of all the alpha hydroxy acids, so it penetrates the upper layers of the skin and gets the older skin cells off the skin. The cleanser is non-foaming. It leaves the skin smooth and soft. Use in the morning and evening. Massage over the skin and remove with a wet washcloth. Because of the glycolic acid it cannot be used as an eye makeup remover.

Step 2:

C-Esta Face Serum contains a lipid soluble ascorbyl palmitate (Vitamin C) which has a longer shelf life than other Vitamin C products and when exposed does not break down. It is a incredible anti-inflammatory, it thickens the skin, lessens redness and has an anti-oxidant cocktail. This serum is used sparingly morning and evening over clean skin.

Step 3:

To resurface the skin, use Bioglycolic Bioclear Face Lotion. It is a combination of three acids: 12% glycolic acid, 2% salicylic acid and 2% azelaic acid. This product treats acne, large pores, hyperpigmentation, it brightens, stimulates collagen and the azelaic acid is great for rosacea. It is used after the serum, morning and evening over the entire face except the eye area.

Step 4:

Transformation Face Cream has has an oil version and a dry version. The oily version has a number of amino-acid peptides such as bentapeptides and thymosin beta-4 (patented to correct DNA). It enhances collagen production. The dry version is for age intervention. It is for anyone over the age of 25. This version is correction sun exposure, repairing DNA, Co-Enzyme Q10 (the anti-oxidant) helps to fight free radicals and it has essential fatty acids. This cream can be used morning or night (better off night so that you can use the sunscreen in the morning). If you have extremely dry skin you might be able to pull off using both.

Step 5:

Antioxidant Daily Protectant SPF 30 is the sunscreen of the system. It is packed full of antioxidants to help fight free radicals that the sun and daily pollutants provide. It also absorbs skins oils by acting like a microscopic sponge. Phytomelanin is a plant that mimics melanin, enhancing UV protection. It allows 80 minutes of sun protection. It also has ingredients that are anti-inflammatory. I will say this, the sun protection is not mineral, but chemical. The ingredients are: octinoxate 7.5%, oxybenzone 6%, octyl salicylate 5% and avobenzone 1%. This is to be used 30 minutes prior to sun exposure.

After using all of the system products, I will say my favorite is the Bioglycolic Bioclear. Shocking right? I love alpha-hydroxy acids and this is great! It was surprising to use it right after the serum but the two really do go hand in hand. I like that she put the three acids together. Having the three acids together makes such a strong and effective product! The system is great. Often professionals opt for single products but I can understand why Jan Marini wanted to have a whole system. She firmly believes in the whole system approach. Why? Because you can see improvement quickly. I saw an improvement in my pigmentation almost within two weeks. That was really my only concern. However, she has glycolic acid in the products and it has been shown that glycolic acid will help fine lines and pigmentation. Below you can see the first photograph, 10/26/12. Notice the freckles and sun damage I have (a lot!!!), 11/4/12. That is 10 days of use. I notice some lightening of the sun damage and freckling. That makes me happy!

This system is a good investment if you have some significant skin concerns. It comes in Normal/Combo, Dry/Very Dry, Very Oily and Men. $295.00 at www.janmarini.com.

(These products were sent for consideration, however my opinions are honest).

  1. This is a great bargain for this system.
Her C-Esta product is the product that made her line. It's that good and she's phenomenal with lots of products but she is the one who stabilized the Vit C for a ton of lines and she has licensed it out for that purpose. So why not get it directly from the source..

  2. You two BE QUIET!!! Because wow, I'm seriously tempted. I love the idea of a Vitamin C product that is actually stable. But my credit cards are ready to melt as it is!

  3. Jan Marini was also the brains behind MD Forte and MD Formulations, the two MD lines the 1st incorporated high level of glycolic acid. She knows her stuff! Yes, many lines have taken her Vitamin C technology and used it. I love C-Esta and Bioglycolic Bioclear. It's a great line, how many lines do you know that incorporate so much technology that all kinds of skin conditions can be treated by just 5 products?????

  4. A review management system is essential for any kind of business. Social media marketing is gaining more momentum in the last few years. Any customer testimonial or word of mouth shared via internet about the product, service or company refers to Social media marketing. Given a platform to share thoughts, consumers get together to discuss their opinions or give feedback. Such opinions can form a tremendous image boost for the company.
