The Stuff You Need: LORAC’s Ooh La Lace Baked Eye Palette

DSC08009DSC08010

If you read my blog, then you know I am a big fan of LORAC. Yesterday I was in Sephora (I had a gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket) and I found this adorable eyeshadow palette from LORAC. This palette would either make a great holiday gift or be a great gift to yourself! The Ooh La Lace Baked Shimmer & Matte Eyeshadow Palette has six eyeshadows that are just about guaranteed to give you the best smoky eye you have seen.

Starting from top left: the first color is a light champagne shimmer, matte charcoal gray, matte black, shimmery rose gold, shimmery bronze and shimmery chocolate brown. The eyeshadows are baked and they are among the best baked eyeshadows I have ever seen. They are very pigmented. Notice that the swatches actually went on well. I had no trouble getting them to swatch. One caveat is that the eyeshadows are a little soft. But, there was not any fallout, which was a plus. The eyeshadows are very nice! They really are some of the best I have seen.

For my smoky eye look I took the shimmery chocolate brown and used it in the crease. I then took the matte black and used it in the outer corner of my eyes and underneath my eyes to line them. On my lids I used the shimmery rose gold (gorgeous color!!!!). Under the brows I used the light champagne shimmer. I lined my upper eye with Urban Decay’s 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion (black). My mascara is L’Oreal’s Voluminous Million Lashes Diamonds (http://iamthemakeupjunkie.blogspot.com/2012/10/review-loreal-voluminous-million-lashes.html). On my cheeks I used MAC’s Her Own Devices Beauty Powder (light brownish-plum) and on my lips is Sephora+Pantone’s Lip Luster Lipstick in Almost Apricot (shimmery apricot). I was excited to try this and it is awful. I am going to take it back!

As you can see, the LORAC palette creates a nice smoky eye. This is a daytime look but with the matte black you could go all out and do a really in depth smoky eye. The eyeshadows are excellent too. The palette retails for $36.00 and is available at www.sephora.com, Sephora stores, www.ulta.com and Ulta stores.

I am happy to have been chosen as one of Too Faced’s Beauty Blogger’s of the month for October. Thank you Too Faced!https://www.toofaced.com/bbom.aspx
