Review: Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

DSC09765

Just a few days ago I came across this new foundation from Revlon while I was at Rite-Aid. The display claimed that is foundation was a light foundation with buildable coverage and a broad spectrum sunscreen. It has a fair amount of colors but nothing too deep and even the lightest color is not really that light. The foundation is $7.99 (1 oz.), not too expensive. The sunscreen is Octinoxate 3.5% and Titanium Dioxide 1.9%, so if you cannot handle chemical sunscreens then this will not work for you.

I purchased the lightest color they had, 110 Ivory, which is just a tiny bit darker than I wanted. The foundation itself is a little runny. I applied it with my Beautyblender sponge and placed it on the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. One coat of the product is as the product implies, nearly naked. It is just enough to give the lightest coverage but not enough if you want any blemishes covered. However the best thing about this product is that it can be built up. I applied another light coat of it and found it to be much better. It has a nice finish to it, very soft focus. Then I applied powder and went about my business for the day.

I checked during the afternoon to see if it had migrated or worn off. I didn’t find that the foundation looked cakey. By the evening it still looked okay. I think it has good wear. The coverage is okay, buildable like I said but you have to put powder on it to make it stay on all day. Even with two “coats” it is still light coverage. That is why they call is Nearly Naked. This is probably one of the better drugstore foundations I have tried recently. My favorite drugstore foundation being Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse. This one will be nice for spring and summer I am sure. Check your local Rite-Aid or Walgreens for this. Let me know if you have tried and what you think!

  1. I like better coverage because i have acne scars but this doesn't sound to bad, i'd use it in summer when my skin clears up x

  2. How bad are the scars? I might recommend a concealer for the face in conjunction with this. As I mentioned, you can get some good coverage but if your scars are fairly red then this might not cover them. If you would like I can recommend some products for your skin.
