I received what has to be the most interesting product (a tinted lip balm) I have ever seen. VAULT, a newly founded company by sports enthusiasts Julia and Craig Carroll, was born on the inspiration that it should take only one hand to open a lip balm/lip gloss. Busy athletes are often in an area where they cannot get both hands onto the product, thus voila! VAULT is a perfect addition.
Made with natural ingredients found on the Pacific Coast, VAULT’s lip care line has three collections:
- Lip Gloss- made with a Bond girl applicator, it provides the look of a spy while delivering beautiful, vibrant color that gives a supple, voluminous pout. Made with jojoba oil and Vitamin E, it hydrates and enriches lips. Available in 16 shades. ($16)
- Tinted Lip Balm- the ultra-rich balm is formulated with Shea and Cocoa butters, Aloe and Vitamin E for smooth lips. The color palette is inspired by the snow-covered Sierra Mountains and Orange County beach scene. It has a matte finish and a pop of color. Available in 8 shades ($10)
- Lip Balm Sport- this natural lip balm hydrates lips with coconut and almond oils, beeswax and Vitamin E. Also has SPF 15 to provide protection to lips. ($5.50)
The most interesting thing about the VAULT tinted lip balm is the way you open it. I am not very coordinated so it took me a little practice, but there is a set of instructions. When you put it on the balm feels soft and supple. Just a very light floral fragrance is detected. It is not oily at all, it is definitely a true “balm”. The color I received was Triple Espresso (medium shimmery brown) and the color goes on so that you do see it. I also like the price point, it’s not too expensive. If you ski, this is a good idea to have with you or for any thing where your hands are busy all the time. Or this is just a nice tinted lip balm to have around.
