Review: Thymes Agave Nectar Body Wash & Hand Lotion

DSC07648Layers of lemon blossom, red grapefruit and tangy guava combine with refreshing citrus, radiating a bright cheerfulness and are softened with agave nectar to form the warm, rich honeyed base note. Subtle crystalline musk and soothing aloe leaf combine to deliver a clean, fresh finish. The Agave fragrance profile is dominantly citrus with sub families of green and gourmand. Other Thymes fragrances with similar profiles are Verbena Bamboo and Thymes Essentials.

I was lucky enough to try out two great products from the Thymes line. The Agave Nectar Body Wash was seen in Seventeen magazine, “The Beauty Blog Network” and Parents magazine.

The Agave Nectar Body Wash is $19.00 for 9.25 oz. This body wash has glycerin to soften the skin. I find that the scent is extremely exhilarating. For me, used in the morning it helps wake me up and gets me ready for the day! The scent is definitely a lovely and light citrus base, which I like (I suffer horrible migraines and cannot tolerate some fragrances). The body wash also lathers nicely and leaves my skin feeling soft, not dry. That is a plus in my book! I like this body wash very much. And my daughters would like me to relay that they enjoy it too!

Silky is what I would use to describe the Agave Nectar Hand Lotion. It is $25.00 for 8.25 oz. When I first used this I was immediately struck by how soft my hands were after one use. The lotion sunk right into my skin. This lotion has emollients like jojoba oil, shea butter and squalane to help soothe and heal the skin. Glycerin attracts moisture to the skin and Vitamin E acts as an anti-oxidant. I use a pump of this at least once or twice a day. I am trying to keep it from my youngest daughter, who is a lotion hog!!! I’m afraid she will use it all up. I adore this and it is way too nice for her to use willy-nilly. Just a small pump of this takes care of both hands. Then I sit and smell my hands for an hour or two. Is that odd?

Agave Nectar Body Wash & Hand Lotion are available from www.thymes.com.

  1. I've been looking over your last 5 posts and decided I better leave a comment! I love the nude look you created, and that lip color! That shade looks incredible on you.

With regard to your smelling your hands for an hour of two after putting on this lotion, I had to laugh. I do the same thing. And I make my husband smell them too ;-> ('Oh my gosh, I can still smell it. Smell it!')

So glad I found you at the Aloha Friday blog hop.

  2. The hand lotion sounds lovely, I sit and smell my hands, too - my boyfriend says it's weird but I don't think it is! :)

    1. It is. Last night I covered my arms in it and just sat and adored the fragrance. We are not odd. We just know good odors over bad ones!
