For Summer 2013, Illamasqua has come out with a colorful collection that “Dares To Open A Doorway To A New Dimension”. Why be normal, when you can be paranormal? I am always the first to try out their collections because they always offer the most amazing items, coolest colors and fun ways to wear makeup.
I got Paranormal waterproof eye shadow palette ($53.97), Gleam in Supernatural ($28.97), Lipsticks in ESP and Posture ($26.19 respectively). I also purchased the Precision Gel Liner in Infinity ($28.57) and their new Hydra Veil Re-Hydrating Gel($42.86). Note these are the prices listed on www.illasmasqua.com. The prices may be different on a site in another country that sells Illamasqua products. There are also some lovely blacklight Nail Varnishes ($23.81), that you need to see. Seriously, I wish I could use them. I would love to have all of them!
I had very high hopes for this palette. On the box it claims that the eye shadows in it are highly pigmented and are an innovative new waterproof formula that last all day. Let me say that while they are very pigmented, the creasing began after about a half an hour of wear!!!! I love the colors. I am so upset. I paid a good amount of money for these and I actually had to reapply them to get a good shot for the camera. How upsetting it this? I am not going to recommend this palette at all.
Gleam in Supernatural is even better than the original. It works as a great bronzing cream for the cheeks, face and can be used on the eyes as eye shadow. I used it directly over foundation with a brush and then applied a little bit of powder to set it. It lasts a long time and the pigmentation is great.
Both ESP and Posture, are par for the course when it comes to Illamasqua lipsticks. They have great pigmentation, they last forever and the quality is just about the best on the market. I love that this company always comes out with funky colors. I am 42 years old and would you think that I would wear these on a daily basis? No, but I am. This is how much they influence me!
The Precision Gel Liner in Infinity is a perfect companion for this collection. This liner glides on like perfection and is creamy. It is wet long enough for you to get a good line and then dries and sets for all day wear. Cat eye? Yes! I am hoping for many, many more colors in this formula.
I have to tell you about this little miracle product. I hemmed and hawed about whether or not I should get this or not. GET IT!!!!!! It is a little clear drop of perfection. Use a tiny bit all over your face. Then voila! Perfection! So much hydration and tiny lines disappear. All they nasty stuff is gone. This stuff is a must have in your bag of tricks. Like I said, GET IT!!!!!!
Here you can see the swatches of the items:
From left: (Paranormal, Aura, Trance and Possession) Supernatural, Posture, ESP
Below is my look with the Paranormal items: I used Illamasqua Skin Base No.2 mixed with their Skin Base Gold for foundation. On my cheeks I used the Gleam in Supernatural under my powder then just lightly applied powder. On my eyes I used Paranormal on the inside of my eye then blended it out with Possession on the rest of my lid. I used Aura to in the crease and blended it up with both of those and up under the brow. I used the gel liner on the top of my of lid. Under my eye I used Possession and blended it out. On my lips I used the technique of two lipsticks, as Illamasqua had on their website(ESP and Posture). I am not going to give up on the eye shadows though, I’m just going to try a different method of using them!
