Review: BECCA Radiant Skin Satin Finish Foundation in Porcelain

BECCA Radiant Skin Satin Finish FoundationI review a good number of foundations, always in search of the “perfect” one. While I don’t think there will ever be a perfect match, a few of the ones I find will make the list of exceptionally good matches for my skin. To make this list, these need to have the following: a) a good color match of course, b) make my skin look dewy without making it look greasy, c) will not make my skin look greasy throughout the day, d) have long wear, e) have great coverage. I don’t think that I am asking for too much. We, as customers, often pay high amounts of money for our foundation ($60 is common these days).

I wanted to try BECCA Radiant Skin Satin Finish Foundation. Having not tried this brand’s foundations in the past, I thought it was about time I give them a try. After all, they advertise a number of foundations and shades. I chose Porcelain, which is actually Fair Ivory Beige with pink undertones. Usually I am more of a neutral undertone but I am seeing that a number of brands are bringing out foundations with too much yellow in their product. I would rather have a smidge of pink than yellow to deal with. I found the pink in it not really that pink actually.

This foundation has Ejitsu Rose, which helps to improve elasticity and radiance, while providing anti-inflammatory properties. Its non-drying formula will not settle into pores, fine lines and wrinkles. Another wonderful attribute is that it has antioxidant protection, such as Vitamin E, to enhance moisture in the skin, while protecting against pollution and free-radical damage. Becca says that this foundation is suitable for normal, combination and oily skin. It is also water-resistant and hypoallergenic.

You can see from the swatch (Porcelain) on the left is a lovely color. It is a fair beige colorBecca Radiant Skin Satin Foundation_swatch with a pink undertone, but on my skin it isn’t too pink. What I also love about the foundation is that it provides wonderful coverage. And the coverage is buildable. It is billed as medium/buildable coverage. It comes in 18 shades. A silicone emulsion helps to absorb sebum so that you can have a radiant but not oily look. The “radiant” property is one of the things that drew me to the foundation. I want to look radiant! It also goes on very smoothly and blends easily, so that you do get great coverage.  BECCA Radiant Skin Satin Finish Foundation covers imperfections very well. It also lasts throughout the day without becoming cakey or coming off. If you have a lot of blemishes to cover I wouldn’t recommend this, check the Sephora website . There is a full coverage foundation, but it might not be for you.

Becca has a shade match guarantee. They guarantee that you can find your shade in one of their numerous foundations. I have definitely found my shade in this foundation. It goes on beautifully, stays on and looks great!. This is definitely one of my favorites. Top five. Well worth the money! BECCA Radiant Skin Satin Finish Foundation is $42.00 for a 1.35 oz./40 ml. tube. and is available through www.sephora.com and selected Sephora stores.
