Review: Korres Products

korres

I have to admit something. One of the reasons I began liking Korres so much is that they are a Greek brand. My husband is from Greece (the town of Karystos, on the island of Evia). I used to buy their products when we would go to Greece every summer. I would use the products and I became hooked. The other is that I am so happy to see such a wonderful company with some of the highest quality products. I have tried a few of their products now and everyone of them have been just amazing. There are a few I am going to be discussing over the course of this review. I have to say “Κορρές έχει μερικά από τα καλύτερα προϊόντα στην αγοράσήμερα!” (Korres has some of the best products on the market today!)

Korres started as a homeopathic pharmacy set up behind the Kallimarmaron Stadium in Athens, in the 1960’s. George Korres, a pharmacist, was overwhelmed by his passion for herbs. He loved working with herbs and wanted to use them in products, so that they could help people. The first Korres product was an aromatic syrup with honey and aniseed. It was inspired by ‘rakomelo’, a warming spirit which grandfather Giorgos Korres used to make in his village, Skado of Naxos. The skincare line began in 1992. The formulas were first tested on his own friends! Homeopathy is somewhat how “the advantages of natural ingredients lie not only on their efficacy but also on the unique, irreplaceable synergy between their components”. Lena Korres, currently the Brand Development Director, joined George and has helped lead the company to become a global phenomenon. She developed the yogurt line, including the Greek Yogurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial, that is now one of its bestsellers!

Basil Lemon Shower Gel

Korres Basil Lemon Shower GelThe first product I would like to discuss, is their Korres Basil Lemon Shower Gel. What I like about their shower gels is that they are very moisturizing while maintaining the natural oils in the skin. The shower gel is formulated with emollients and humectants to keep skin soft and smooth. Its scent is a fresh, citrus burst of lemon with an undertone of invigorating basil. This is great for summer! I also love that it doesn’t require a ton of shower gel to get a good lather going. This HUGE bottle will last a long time. Their shower gels come in six other scents: Jasmine, Vanilla Guava, Fig, Japanese Rose, Guava and Mulberry Vanilla.

The Basil Lemon Shower Gel comes in a 13.53Fl. Oz. 400mL bottle for $19.50.

Fig Body Butter

Korres Fig Body Butter

Do you have dry skin? Not any more. Get your skin some Korres Body Butter. I tried the Fig scent. How luxurious! Its main ingredient is shea butter, which is known to soften skin so much that you would swear you could be mistaken for a baby. Fig extract, quince, minerals and vitamins revitalize the skin, tone and rejuvenate the skin. Oils? Yes, it is rich in oils! This butter has sunflower, avocado and almond oils. It is perfect for dry elbows, heels and knees. I have been slathering it all over my feet, then sticking socks over them and leaving them to “soak” overnight. Voila! In the morning I have wonderfully soft feet. There are 10 other scents: Jasmine, Vanilla Guava, Yoghurt, Basil Lemon, Japanese Rose, Guava, Mulberry Pear, Apple Blossom, Mulberry Pear Vanilla and Bergamot Pear.

The Fig Body Butter comes in a 7.95Fl. Oz. 235mL tube for $29.00.

Mango Lip Butter

This buttery lip tint melts on the lips and give them just a hint of color while providing knockout shine. Keeps lips moisturized and soft. Comes in 6 other great colors: Wild Rose, Plum, Pomegranate, Quince, Jasmine and Guava. Full of shea butter, free of petrolatum. Keeps lips soothed and conditioned. This can also be layered under lipstick and lip gloss. What I love about it is that it stays on the lips for a while, unlike a lot of lip “balms”. It keeps my lips nice and soft, not dry. The color is a nice little treat, not too much, just enough. I’m always looking for a great lip balm and this is one of my favorites!

Mango Lip Butter comes in a little 0.21Fl. Oz.6mL pot for $12.00.

Pomegranate Lip Butter Glaze

Korres Pomegranate Lip Butter GlazeDSC03498

A colorful and buttery lip glaze that leaves lips feeling so soft and supple. It comes in 4 other vibrant shades: Wild Rose, Raspberry, Jasmine and Quince. Contains natural oils to soothe and condition lips. Beeswax and Sunflower Seed Wax help provide a soft creamy texture that makes the glaze melt easily on the lips. Sugar Cane conditions and moisturizes the lips. Fruit Sterols hydrate and provide anti-oxidant protection. And it has an amazing fragrance! The glaze comes in an easy to use tube for application purposes, so if you are on the go just apply with the tip of the tube instead of your fingers. I have found the color is very vibrant, almost that of a regular lip gloss. I like that it leaves my lips feeling so great.

Pomegranate Lip Butter Glaze comes in a 0.34Fl. Oz.10mL for tube for $14.00.

The reviews here have been on just a few Korres products that I have been lucky enough to try out. Korres uses the best ingredients and they try to use natural formulations for their products. I have been very happy with every products I have tried. Korres is very well known for their skincare. My next goal is to review the Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Facial and the Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial products. Those are the exemplary products in the line right now. There is a lot of research that goes into their formulations and I have heard great things about those two products! I would love to hear any questions or comments about your experiences with Korres.
