I Am THE Makeup Junkie. I love to get to experiment and try makeup from any brand and report back on how it is. It is my job to let you know the scoop. As the biggest makeup junkie, I love a good lipstick. I literally have hundreds of lipsticks in my collection! So, I was more than happy to try the Merle Norman Age Defying Lipcolor in Americana (bright blue red). This lipstick comes in 23 matte and shimmer shades and has an exclusive age-defying complex that increases moisture retention to help diminish the appearance of fine lines while it provides full color coverage. 
As you can see from the photos below, it does have full color coverage. Americana is a really bright blue red. Normally I shy away from such colors but actually I found this to be a very comfortable color. It goes on very smooth and creamy. The wear is great too. Honestly, I haven’t worn any Merle Norman cosmetics in a very long time, but this lipstick is so nice that I do want to see what else they offer.

You can see from the color I am wearing, above, Americana, that the pigmentation is rich and full. The color wears for hours and hours. I wore this red and it did not bleed. The biggest problem I have right now is lipstick bleeding. I am 42 and I am dealing with the idiosyncrasies of aging. So this is a nice change. It is actually the best red I have found by far. A blue based red but it looks really nice on. I have a neutral tone skin so I can wear both blue and yellow based reds. The lipstick range has a great selection of colors, 23 shades to choose from.
What was really surprising is that the color stayed really strong even after I ate. As I am writing this I have been wearing it for 6 hours, I ate breakfast and lunch and this lipstick is still going strong. Not bad at all! I am quite pleased with the performance of the Age Defying Lipcolor. Merle Norman is a brand that I am definitely going to have to check out now.
