SEPHORA PANTONE UNIVERSE Elemental Energy Eye Shadow Palette

I have all of the SEPHORA + PANTONE UNIVERSE collections. I adore them! So I am very excited to be able to bring this review to you. SEPHORA goes all out when they bring a collection to their customers.

This season the theme is Elemental Energy: Earth Air, Fire and Water. The SEPHORA + PANTONE UNIVERSE Elemental Energy Eye Shadow Palette ($38.00, www.sephora.com or SEPHORA stores) has 16 eye shadows based on this theme. A fall spectrum of rare umbers, ethereal lilacs, rapturous vermillions, and deep sea ceruleans all in spired by the four elements. Each element is divided into a section and has four shadows inspired by that element. Is that not fun or what?

I find that most of these eye shadows have great pigmentation. They are all fairly soft with little to no fallout, which is a great plus!. I love that I can mix and match from each element to create beautiful looks. Below I will show you some swatches as well as three looks that I did so you can get a good assessment of the palette. There are only a couple of shadows that I had problems with showing up. I used all of them dry so that I could see how each would do. The first photo below shows the earth and air sections and the second photo has the fire and water sections. The only shadow that I was really not happy with is the cream shade in the fire section, it barely shows up. Otherwise, they all have great pigmentation and I am giving it a very good review. My favorite shade is the shimmery mint, from the air section. It looks so beautiful mixed in any look.

The Shadows:

Earth has a matte pea green, glittery green, matte warm brown and a satin warm cocoa. Air has a shimmery mint, matte grayish taupe, shimmery lavender and a matte cool eggplant brown. The Fire shades are matte cream, glittery copper, fiery pink shimmery and a matte chocolate. Finally the water shades are shimmery watery blue, matte rock, satin ocean and glittery blue-green.

LOOK 1:

My foundation is the new SEPHORA Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation ($26.00, www.sephora.com). For this look I took the matte brown from the air section and used it in the crease. Then I used the rich shimmery brown from the earth section and lined the lower lid and used it in the outer corner of the lid. The dark gray taupe from the air section was used under the crease to make it look deeper. The beautiful shimmery mint color from the air section was used on the lid. Finally, under my brow I used the matte cream shade. I used the Fire shade from the Elemental Molten Liquid Liner ($18.00, www.sephora.com) to line. It is a bright shimmery green. For mascara I used SEPHORA Outrageous Volume in black ($15.00, www.sephora.com). On my lips I used the Carnelian shade of the Fire & Earth Ombre Dual Lipstick ($22.00), the other shade is Deep Claret.

LOOK 2:

This look is inspired by a the ocean: blues, greens and lavender. I used the new NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation (goes on great with the BeautyBlender sponge ($28.95) which is $38.00 for compact and $10.00 for case (www.sephora.com) and I will review later. To get this very strong eye look I used a lot of cool tones. The shimmery glittery blue- green from the water section in the crease, then the matte chocolate brown from the air to line under the eye and the outer edge of the lid. I deepened the crease with the matte grayish taupe color from the water and then used the glittery green shade from the earth section over it. From the air section I used the shimmery lavender shade on the lid and the gorgeous mint shimmer under the brow. I lined the upper lid with the WATER shade from the Elemental Molten Liquid Liner ($18.00, www.sephora.com), which is a glittery blue-green. For mascara I used SEPHORA Outrageous Volume in black ($15.00, www.sephora.com). My lips are reddish pink with the Deep Claret shade of the Fire & Earth Ombre Dual Lipstick ($22.00, www.sephora.com).DSC05387DSC05372DSC05373DSC05375DSC05377

LOOK 3:

This is my warm look and I really like this one. My foundation is SEPHORA MicroSmooth Baked Face Compact ($22.00, www.sephora.com). I stuck to the warm shades this time and I think this suits me better, it is a more natural look. I used the glittery copper shade from the fire section in the crease, then deepened it with the dark matte brown shade. I used the same shade to line the lower lid and used it on the outer section of my lid. I used the lovely fiery pink shimmer shade on my lid and the matte cream shade under the brow. To line the upper lid I used the SEPHORA Long Lasting Ultra Vinyl Eyeliner in Black ($14.00, www.sephora.com) and SEPHORA Outrageous Volume mascara ($15.00, www.sephora.com) For my lips I used Cornsilk (shimmery gold) shade of the Fire & Earth Ombre Dual Lipstick ($22.00, www.sephora.com)and the other side is Grenadine.

I think that you will like this palette a lot! Each successive palette that SEPHORA + Pantone has come out with has been pretty great. I am very happy with this one and I think that it is a winner! I wanted to make sure that my review was very thorough for you so that you knew what you were getting into before you dropped $38.00 on a eye shadow palette. Look for my other reviews on the new products coming out from SEPHORA this autumn/fall! I have a great number of reviews coming soon.

  1. I love this concept, although I'm terrible when you put themed collections in front of me- I always need to collect them all! I like that there are some vibrant and some more muted shades.
