At the beginning of Urban Decay’s launch into the cosmetic world, they came out with the most awesome cosmetic palette called the “Face Case”. These palettes held their quirky eye shadows and gorgeous blushes. I tried looking around on Google for photos of the originals but to no avail. I don’t even have one still in my stash. I was super excited when I heard they were re-launching the Face Case for the Holiday season. Urban Decay makes the best eye shadows on the market and I knew these would be just great! Or would they? Let’s take a look.
There are two Face Cases available: Anarchy and Shattered. Each one holds 5 eye shadows (4 exclusive and one future cult favorite as UD says), a travel size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Liner Pencil, 2 blushes, a Highlighter and a Super Saturated Lip Pencil. It comes in a nice size travel case with easy accessibility and a nice mirror on each layer for application. Let’s look at each Face Case for pros and cons.
Shattered Face Case:
The five eye shadows in the Shattered Face Case are Shakedown (gray-brown satin), Remix (rich purple shimmer with glitter), Nameless (brown gunmetal satin), Minor Sin (champagne pink satin) and Bleach (yellow-beige matte). 24/7 Glide-On Eye Liner in Zero (black cream). Blushes are Overexposed (dusty rose) and Temper (baby pink). Highlighter Glint (soft pink-champagne shimmer). Super Saturated Lip Pencil in Lovechild (cool pink cream). The only problem I had with the eye shadows was with Minor Sin, which didn’t have much pigment. As you can see, it didn’t swatch that well. Even Bleach came up better on my pale arm! I found that very unusual. The eye shadows were very creamy and soft, like the normal UD eye shadows. They also didn’t have any fallout. I like this palette. The blushes went on very well and I found them to be very pigmented. I wish UD would bring back powder blushes instead of those creamy ones they have. I am waiting with baited breath for this…The Super Saturated Lip Pencil was also very, very nice. Lovechild has a lot of pigment to it and it wore a long, long time. I used it over a lip liner of course, and it lasted forever. I found it to have a lot of shine too. I do think this is well worth the money and would make a nice gift for someone. Good job Urban Decay!

My Look With Shattered Face Case
Anarchy Face Case:
The Anarchy Face Case is a little bit different than the Shattered one. The eyeshadows are not of the same quality. I found them to be softer and have so much fallout! First let me describe them: Redemption (deep gunmetal satin), Fray (warm mauve matte), Vaporize (deep metallic gray-taupe shimmer), Provocateur (light metallic mauve shimmer glitter) and Revolt (bright metallic silver shimmer glitter). There is also a 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion (deepest black matte) The blushes are Fetish (mauve-pink) and Quickie (bright pink). The highlighter is Craze(gold shimmer). Last is the Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Scandal (bright red shimmer). The one shadow I really had a hard time with is Provocateur. It left glitter all over my face! Revolt was a little bit better but these are not of the same quality as their other eye shadows and I am upset. I do like the blushes but for this amount of money I expect a much better set!!!!

These are the looks I did with both palettes. Personally, I like the Shattered one over the Anarchy one. For me it is a matter of quality. I’m very happy with the Shattered Face Case and recommend this one. I am not going to recommend the Anarchy one just because of the extreme fallout with the eye shadows. Each palette is $44.00. Shattered Face Case is available at www.urbandecay.com, www.beauty.com, www.macys.com, www.sephora.com and SEPHORA, Ulta and Macy’s stores. Anarchy Face Case is only available through www.sephora.com and SEPHORA stores. Don’t forget about the awesome Urban Decay Vice 2 Eye Shadow Palette. I reviewed this and highly recommend this as a gift for someone or to yourself (http://bit.ly/1fHYRoK)!

Thanks! I just wish the shadows hadn't been so glittery. I mean really now, they are so much better than this now! Get the Shattered. It is nice!
