I have red hair, which is the color that fades the fastest. I have tried almost every shampoo available with hopes that my color will not fade. So I was definitely looking forward to trying out the Color Wow series. This is something I was hoping would help keep my color from fading so fast. So what is the verdict? Let’s see, shall we!
Color Wow was founded by the co-founder of John Frieda, Gail Federici, the woman who helped develop the formulas to address problems like frizzy hair and the formulas for blonde hair. The Color Wow products are developed by a cosmetic chemist, Dr. Joe Cincotta, PhD, who helps resolves the problems with color treated hair. Color Wow is a completely new range of products. These products are targeted to help with roots, brassiness, dullness and fading. This means less money spent at the salon, less stress and less strain on your wallet
Color Security Shampoo $22.00 250ml/$9.00 75 ml.
Color Wow Color Security Shampoo is a sulfate free shampoo that helps to keep color treated hair from losing its luster and keeps color locked in the hair. It has a breakthrough formula that produces a rich, creamy lather (unlike most sulfate free shampoos). This shampoo has a revolutionary Japanese amino fortified complex to help prevent breakage, dullness, dryness and to help improve the texture of hair. Humectants and moisturizing agents nourish the hair and keep color looking vibrant longer. Color fade becomes a thing of the past! LCD (Low Charge Density) technology keeps the hair cuticle closed and prevents it from swelling during washing, so that hair color does not fade.
I consider this to be a very luxurious shampoo, because it really does lather up quite nicely. My hair usually fades so fast that by the time I am ready to color it every 5 weeks, I have almost a completely different hair color. Most shampoos say to shampoo, lather, rinse and repeat I necessary. I really don’t think that it is necessary with this shampoo. It cleanses very well, even if there is a lot of product in the hair. Because my hair is damaged it does feel kind of like straw after I cleanse but this shampoo does moisturize some and helps to soften the hair.
Color Security Conditioner $23.00 250 ml
Color Wow Color Security Conditioner is a thick, rich conditioner that helps to moisturize and condition the hair. It helps to keep it looking healthy and dramatically improves the condition of hair. The formula contains translucent agents that will not weigh down hair or dull it. AET (Aquamino Emulsion Technology) detangles and improves the texture of hair, making it soft and supple. A proprietary complex of Sealicon color shield forms a weightless sheath around each hair fiber to smooth the cuticle and produce a gorgeous, glossy finish.
I love this conditioner. I apply during the shower after I shampoo and leave on for the duration of the shower. Then I rinse and my hair is so silky and soft. It really helps to give moisture to the hair and does not weigh my hair down. I also notice that my hair is nice and shiny.
Since I have been using the Color Security Shampoo and Color Security Conditioner I definitely notice that my color isn’t fading as much either. Usually I see color running down the drain, but with these products that doesn’t happen. My red hair is still as fiery and bright as the first day I colored it. I love how rich and luxurious the shampoo is. I also love how the conditioner leaves my hair so soft and shiny. The Color Wow series works. I never thought I would find products for color treated hair that actually work. I am surprised. Most shampoos and conditioners don’t live up to the hype, but these do. They also make a series of root cover up products, and I have heard good things about them. Another product I want to try is Pop & Lock-Crystallite Shellac, which is supposed to lock in color and make hair really shiny. I love when my red hair is really, really shiny!
