Review: Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment Palette #UrbanDecay, #Electric

urban decay electric eye shadow palette
This summer Urban Decay, the hippest cosmetic brand around, introduces an electrifying pressed pigment palette. This palette of 10 high pigment eye shadows is just about one of the best I have ever used. All of the pressed pigment eye shadows in the Electric palette are so highly pigmented that I am agog. This palette is not for the faint of heart. You must want to be bold and beautiful to wear this. Eight of the shades are new. Chaos (a bright blue), from the Vice palette is back and so is Revolt (metallic silver shimmer) from the Anarchy Face Case.

The palette also comes with a great double-ended eye shadow brush that allows for excellent pressed pigment application. The shades are velvety smooth with great payoff and very little fallout. Urban Decay developed a new formula just for these eye shadows, to get this crazy amount of pigment. Each eye shadow has the Pigment Infusion System™, which is their proprietary blend of ingredients that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power and blendability.

The pressed pigment shadows in this palette are as follows (descriptions taken from the Urban Decay website, as their descriptions are so spot-on): Revolt (bright metallic silver shimmer w/silver glitter), Gonzo (bright turquoise matte w/ floating tonal pearl), Slowburn (bright red-orange matte w/floating pearl), Savage (bright hot pink matte), Fringe (bright metallic teal), Chaos (bright blue matte w/floating tonal pearl), Jilted (bright metallic fuchsia w/blue shift), Urban (bright metallic purple), Freak (bright green w/gold shift) and Thrash (bright lime green matte w/floating gold pearl).

LOOKS

I did two looks with this palette to show you that normal, everyday moms can wear it. Even though I am a normal everyday mom, I still l love to play with color. This palette gives me the chance to do that. I especially love purple. Purple is the color that really helps to bring out the green in my eyes, so I will use it more than any other color eye shadow.
Look 1: Shadows used in this look are: Urban on entire lid up into the crease. Then above Urban I used Jilted and blended it up into the Revolt, which I used under the brow. I also used Urban under the eye, to line. I used the new Urban Decay Super-Saturated Ultra Intense Waterproof Cream Eyeliner to line the upper lid. And I used Supercurl Mascara on my lashes. On my cheeks I am wearing NARS blush in Love and LancĂ´me Rouge in Love Lipstick in Peche Passion.

Look 2: For this look I used a few shadows. This is more of an experimental look. I used Chaos in the crease then I used Urban in the outer 1/3 of the lid and under the eye to line. Then I used Savage on the inner upper lid and a little bit of Slowburn on the upper lid in the center. I used Revolt under the brow and blended it with Chaos. I lined the upper and lower lids with Buxom’s Waterproof Eyeliner in Door’s Unlocked (Shimmery Purple) and under that I lined the upper lid with Urban Decay’s Ink For Eyes Liquid Eyeliner on the upper lid. I used SEPHORA’s Lash Stretcher Mascara in Black on my lashes. On my cheeks I used NARS blush in Final Cut. On my lips I used NARS Larger Than Life Lipgloss in Bimini.

These are excellent pigments/eye shadows. They go on like velvet and they blend like a dream. I think that Urban Decay has gone and done it again. They always provide great products and I do think that this is worth every penny of the price. If you like bright, beautiful eye shadows then this palette is definitely for you!

Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment Palette is $49.00 and is available online at www.sephora.com, www.ulta.com, www.macys.com, www.beauty.com and www.urbandecay.com and from Sephora, ULTA and select Macy’s stores.
