Review: I Finally Got To To Try Bare Minerals Makeup. And I Was So Pleasantly Surprised! #BareMinerals #makeup #cosmetics #lovingbareminerals

I mentioned in a review of the new Bare Minerals BARESKIN Pure Brightening Serum Foundation that it was my first time trying out the Bare Minerals brand. Well, I was lucky enough to get to try out some of the Bare Minerals cosmetics too. And I must say I was pleasantly surprised and I am wondering what the heck took me so long to try out this brand of cosmetics?!?! All of the items I tried out are so much better than I anticipated. I am really happy with the line and I expect that I will start using Bare Minerals products from now on. Below are reviews of the items I was able to try out.

Prime Time BB Primer-Cream Daily Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 30 $26.00 (1 fl.oz./30 mL)

bare minerals Prime Time BB Primer-Cream Daily Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 30
This primer and BB Cream all rolled into one comes in two shades, light and medium. It is meant to protect from the sun’s damaging rays and prime skin for foundation all at the same time. It is also a BB Cream so you can use it alone if you want instead of under foundation. This wonder has a hint of color, just enough to cover imperfections, discolorations and uneven skin tone, all while providing SPF 30 protection from the sun. The silky formula glides on evenly and combats flaky skin, excess oil and the appearance of pores to perfect the skin and prep it so that foundation will go on flawlessly. The sunscreen in this is mineral based, so it is good for anyone who has issues with chemical sunscreens. The sunscreens are titanium dioxide 2.6% and zinc oxide 6.2%.

I found this primer to be exceptional. The light shade was light enough for me, so that I could use it alone for a BB Cream as mentioned above or I could use it as a primer for my foundation. I used it alone and found that it covered just enough imperfections to make my skin look better. It was not perfect, my skin has a ton of freckling and I need a completely opaque coverage to make those disappear. However, it does cover pretty good, perfecting my skin. When used as a primer it also worked extremely well, allowing for my foundation to go on smoothly and stay perfect all day long. I think this is a great two-in-one product.

Well-Rested Face and Eye Brightener $22.00

bare minerals well rested face and eye brightener
Brighten up your complexion. This improves skin radiance and visibly minimizes dark spots and discolorations over time with a formula that contains light-reflecting minerals to even skin tone. Similar to other types of products but this is not a concealer per se, it goes on translucent. Use under eyes or anywhere that needs brightening up. Use on bare skin or over makeup.

This definitely helps to immediately cover up dark spots and helps to improve them over time. I use it under my eyes, which tends to be the area where I have the most trouble with dark spots. It may take a couple of weeks to see results but you will. The reviews of the Bare Minerals website are also good for this product.

ReadyTM Eyeshadow 2.0 $20.00

bare minerals ready eyeshadow 2.0
I was so excited to try out their eyeshadow duos. I was sent two to try out, The Inspiration (Muse and Passion) and The Last Call (ON the Rocks and Shaken Not Stirred). Their eyeshadow duos provide vivid, long wearing color in an ultra smooth silky texture that has an effortless application and seamless blendability. They come in two complementary shades. The duos have a SeaNutritive MineralTM Complex  along with anti-oxidants, cold pressed borage oil, caffeine and cucumber. These are ingredients known to deliver anti-aging benefits that reduce the look of puffiness and provide a softer, smoother and more revitalized eye area. The shadows look like a powder but feel like a cream and deliver a beautifully smooth application of vivid, long-wearing color. There are 12 eye shadow duos in all to try out.

Personally, I was so surprised at how nice they were. The formula is extremely smooth in texture and does feel like a powder but goes on very smoothly like a cream and delivers bright, vivid color. The wear is exceptional too. I love how the silky the colors are. They are so soft and smooth and blend like a dream!

Lasting Line Long Wearing Eyeliner $16.00

bare minerals Lasting Line Long Wearing Eyeliner
Create a look that will last all day long with a long wearing eyeliner. This twist up pencil glides on to give a precise line for maximum color intensity. The mineral rich formula stays soft and creamy for blending and sets to a long-wearing finish that will not smudge, smear or fade. It includes a built-in sharpener plus an ergonomically angled smudge tip for smooth, effortless blending. Comes in 8 shades, from deepest black to sage.

I was able to try out Always Charcoal, which is a color a little bit lighter than most charcoal shades. The liner does glide on very easily and it give you time to smudge it before it sets and stays on until you take it off. I like that it is very creamy and easy to work with. Great pencil eyeliner!

Lash DominationTM 10-in-1 Volumizing Mascara $18.00

bare minerals Lash Domination 10-in-1 Volumizing MascaraThis mascara gives your lashes volume you can see and feel. It is described as the be-all, end-all 10-in-1 lengthening, thickening separating, long wearing mascara. The exclusive ProTwist180TM Wand is spiraled 180 degrees to curve around lashes and coat ALL angles with intense black color. Powered by a nourishing minerals and quinoa protein complex for larger than life lashes.

I have lashes that are almost completely invisible, so this mascara was a welcome sight for me. I loved what it did for my lashes. It actually made them long, curvy and voluminous. This might just be a miracle mascara! The intense black color is great because it helps define the eyes and make them pop.

ReadyTM Blush $22.00

bare minerals blush the faux pas
If you are looking for blush that will enhance your cheeks with stay-true buildable color then this blush is definitely for you. Powered by their SeaNutritive MineralTM Complex with anti-oxidants and cold-pressed camellia oil, this silky long-wearing formula delivers softer, smoother skin. Solid mineral color lasts for up to 8 hours! It comes in 8 shades too.

The one I tried, The Faux PasTM (blushing pink), is a beautiful light pink shade that looks great on just about anyone. It goes on smoothly without looking too bright or too garish. The blush blends into the skin easily and enhances the skin tone so that you look like you are actually blushing, not like you are wearing blush.

Marvelous MoxieTM Lipstick $18.00

bare minerals marvelous moxie lipstick fly high
This super creamy, ultra-pigmented lipstick glides on the lips like butter for a full coverage in a rich satin finish. Lips look full and more voluptuous. Their infusion of minerals revitalizes lips so they look healthy. The lipstick in infused with a hydrating complex of Abyssinian Oil and Omega Fatty Acids that nourishes and conditions the lips, making them baby soft. Encapsulated Vitamins A, C and E help to deliver anti-oxidants to defend against the environment. Comes in 18 shades.

My favorite thing about this lipstick is how pigmented it is. I also love that it glides on the lips like “butter”. The color I tried, Fly High, was a nice cool light pink. It is a pretty color and I was so surprised at how pigmented the lipstick was. Also, I liked that it made my lips feel better after having worn it for a while, so that it is a big plus in my book.

Marvelous MoxieTM Lipgloss $18.00

bare minerals marvelous moxie lipgloss game changer
Get luscious, vibrant color that is loaded into a refreshing formula. It gives sheer-to-medium coverage with nonstop glistening shine. Lips look fuller and more voluptuous. Naturally derived Shea, Avocado and Murumuru butters help to deeply hydrate and smooth lips while an infusion of minerals revitalizes lips for a healthy looking pout. This gloss is rich and loaded with shine and color. It wears for a long time. I also like how my lips do not feel dry after having worn the gloss for a while, but instead feel nice and soft. I tried Game Changer, a bright cool red shade that looks like a gorgeous cherry red.

Below: Wearing The Last Call (ON the Rocks and Shaken Not Stirred) Eyeshadow Duo. See how vivid the colors are? So bright and blue! I love how the colors are so bright that they just go BAM! So, I was very happy with the Bare Minerals products that I tried recently. I will definitely be purchasing from the brand from now on and I am surprised that it took me so long to try this brand in the first place. If you haven’t tried Bare Minerals and you are thinking of trying them, go for it. This is a high quality brand that puts out great products. They definitely have the items that you will want to try, from vivid, eye catching eye shadows to pigmented long-wearing lipsticks. Their new liquid foundation is TDF and is one of my favorites now. I think this is such an opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and will be for some of you too. What the heck took me so long to try this great brand?!?!?
