Review: Altchek MD Glycolic Renewal Pads #AltchekMD #AHAs

glycolic-renewal-pads.jpg
If you know anything about me then you know I am a huge fan of alpha hydroxy acids for anti-aging skincare. I firmly believe that AHAs are one of the key ingredients in helping to keep skin looking young. Used wisely, AHAs are extremely useful in collagen production, lightening hyperpigmentation, getting rid of acne lesions and helping with fine lines and wrinkles. I use a number of peels on my skin to help with these issues, mainly to help with the issues I have going on right now, which are: hyperpigmentation, some acne lesions and fine lines and wrinkles. Used every day AHAs are important in prevention to keep skin looking younger.

The Altchek MD Glycolic Renewal Pads are a great product. These pads have glycolic acid, lactic acid and even salicylic acid to help with aging concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne, skin radiance and uneven skin tone. The pads help to exfoliate the skin and smooth away the fine lines to improve skin tone and give the skin a radiant look. AHAs, salicylic acid and fruit acids clarify skin and smooth skin texture. Pores are cleared to help with blemishes. Skin is refined, brightened so that uneven skin tone is improved. Green tea and witch hazel extract calm and soothe the skin. It provides hydration to the skin for much improves suppleness smoothness. The pads do not contain any parabens or fragrance.

I have used many different brands of “exfoliating” pads, so I am very familiar with how well they should work. I also use many types of peels on my skin and am quite familiar with AHAs. These pads work well at exfoliating the skin. I would recommend them for skin that is not sensitive and for those who are not using Retin-A (tretinoin). It is something that would be good for any skin type, oily, normal, combination, dry and especially acneic skin. Start with every other day if you are not familiar with AHAs on your skin and work up to every day if you would like to really get good exfoliation. This product will cause sun sensitivity, so you must use sunscreen daily. Use at least an SPF 30. Use these pads at night, after cleansing skin. Apply on dry skin for 30-60 seconds, do not rinse. After application, make sure to wait a few minutes then apply serums and moisturizer.

I like how well these pads lighten up my hyperpigmentation. I found that my freckles are much lighter after having used this product for a month. Unfortunately I had some sun this summer after a trip to Greece (you cannot avoid the sun entirely there!). I did get some freckling there on my face and these pads did help to lighten that up. It also helped to even out some of the blotchiness that I had and made my skin tone look all around better. Used every night after cleansing, these pads are an excellent choice for my routine. The price is great too!
