nyakio kenyan coffee face polish
Exfoliation is one of the best ways to keep skin looking fresh, vibrant and youthful. Whether it be physical (scrubs) or chemical (AHAs), exfoliation is essential in helping skin to get rid of dead skin cells that clog up pores. Clogged pores lead to acne, acne can lead to scarring. An excess of dead skin cells on the face can also make skin look dull and tired. Nyakio™ has an excellent face scrub that I have found will work for anyone, even those with the most sensitive of skins.

Nyakio Kamoche Grieco founded the nyakio™ line. She is a first generation American born from Kenyan descent. She always loved beauty and after working in the entertainment industry, inspired by her family of medicine men, farmers and educators, Nyakio created the nyakio™ brand to share her family beauty secrets. She was most influenced by her maternal grandfather, a medicine man, and by her namesake paternal grandmother. Nyakio carefully selects the best naturally effective African ingredients that have been used by generations for their hydrating, revitalizing, smoothing and anti-aging benefits.

nyakio™ kenyan coffee face polish is exfoliant that is gentle enough to be used every day. This scrub wakes up skin and gives it radiance with the infusion of kenyan coffee extract, jojoba and natural oils such as chamomile oil, lemongrass oil, neroli oil, macadamia seed oil and sunflower seed oil. It gently removes dull skin, improves texture and reveals soft, more youthful-looking skin immediately. Nyakio’s family secret led to the formula for this product. Nyakio’s maternal grandmother (who worked on a sustainable coffee farm) would use boiled down coffee beans mixed with honey and apply this to her skin using a sugarcane rod to exfoliate and soften her skin.

This scrub is made without parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, phthalates, or triclosan. It energizes skin, gently exfoliates, provides anti-oxidant benefits, moisturizes skin, softens skin, smoothes skin, improves skin’s texture and provides immediate radiance. It is recommended for all skin types, even those with the most sensitive of skins. This exfoliant is dermatologist tested. The best way to use it is to apply to wet skin in a circular motion (avoid the eye area). Rinse off with warm water. It is gentle enough for daily use and can be used morning or night. A 4 week clinical study was done to test the efficacy of this scrub. 100% of participants tested said that this scrub left their skin smooth and it buffed away dull surface skin. 90% perceived the product helped left facial skin more supple, it left skin feeling more toned and it revealed fresh-looking and more polished looking skin. 70% perceived that the product left skin more hydrated, improved skin texture and it left the complexion looking more radiant.

What I love most about this scrub is how gentle it is. This is a scrub that is great for all skin types and can be used every day if need be. Just a little bit is all you need. I find that for me it works well on damp skin then I remove with a wet washcloth for added exfoliation. The natural oils in it hydrate skin. This product left my skin feeling very soft and looking radiant! I think this is a great product for those in need of a very gentle exfoliant that can be used daily.
nyakio™ kenyan coffee face polish comes in a 3.4 oz./100 mL tube and retails for $34.00. It is available from www.nyakio.com.
