Now is the time of year when we start wearing shorter sleeves, shorts and even swimsuits. It is also the time of year when skin is susceptible to more damage from the sun. Even though using sunscreen year round is important, it is definitely important to start using it every day during the spring and summer months. I recommend at least a SPF 15 for daily use on the body, preferably a 30 on the face.
No-AD Skincare, the sunscreen line that comes with excellent prices, has come out with two new products: Prevent & Repair Anti-Aging Body Moisturizer and Prevent & Brighten Anti-Aging Body Moisturizer (both with SPF 15). I tried out both of them. These products are great for daily use, to help keep skin looking younger.
NO-AD Skincare Prevent & Repair Anti-Aging Body Moisturizer SPF 15 $5.99
This product, Prevent & Repair Anti-Aging Body Moisturizer SPF 15, is a great way to hydrate the skin while providing anti-aging benefits. It has many Vitamins in it that repair the skin. Collagen production is boosted and firmness is improved. The natural barrier function of the skin is also improved by the ingredients in this lotion. It contains purified watermelon extract from the Kalahari desert to protect against inflammation and irritation, giving skin a more even skin texture. This product has aloe vera, which also acts as an anti-inflammatory. Vitamin A helps to stimulate cell growth for smoother skin. Vitamin B6 protects against free radicals that damage skin cells. It has Vitamin C to fight off free radicals, helping to smooth skin and firm the skin. Vitamin D has a rejuvenating effect on the skin. And, Vitamin E helps to get rid of dryness, as it also helps to keep UV rays from penetrating the skin. Prevent & Repair Anti-Aging Moisturizer comes in two forms, a body lotion and a lotion spray. It moisturizes skin for up to 36 hours. The SPF 15 is from Avobenzone 1.2%, Homosalate 7.5% and Octisalate 5%.
I tried out the body lotion. It is very nice. Not too thick or heavy and once applied to the skin it sinks in fairly quickly. Skin felt soft and hydrated. I recommend applying it about 20-30 minutes prior to going outside, as it takes that long for the sunscreen to metabolize with the skin. It is nice to see a body lotion that does more than just moisturize the skin. Having a body lotion/sunscreen in one is a great way to take care of two birds with one stone.

The Prevent & Brighten Anti-Aging Body Moisturizer SPF 15 has a number of Vitamins and oils in it to help get rid of hyperpigmentation, reduce redness and even out skin tone. Vitamin B3 (niacinamide) brightens skin, boosts hydration so that redness is reduced, minimizes hyperpigmentation and it increases the production of ceramides and fatty acids (components of the skin’s natural protective barrier). It has Vitamin C to fight off free radicals, to help smooth and firm skin. The source of Vitamin E is sunflower oil, which helps to ease dry skin and helps to keep UV rays from penetrating the skin. Argan Oil diminishes the appearance of age spots and brightens skin. This lotion keeps skin hydrated for 36 hours. The SPF 15 is from Avobenzone 1.2%, Homosalate 7.5% and Octisalate 5%. If you are worried about hyperpigmentation (dark spots or age spots) on your body, then this product is for you. It will help to get rid of those spots. It has ingredients that are known for helping to brighten the skin. Use daily to see skin look brighter. Also make sure to apply this product 20-30 minutes before going out so that the sunscreen has time to metabolize with the skin. I was given the lotion spray to try out. I found that this lotion spray applied evenly to the skin and sunk right in after application. It was easy to apply and made my skin very soft. I have a lot of sun damage on my skin from sunburns as a child. I think it did make a small difference on my arms after a few weeks of use, even though my sun damage is pretty severe. This product is nice because you can use it to moisturize and brighten the skin all at once. As with the other one, you are killing two birds with one stone.
