I Am THE Makeup Junkie October 2015 HITLIST #HITLIST #IAmTHEMakeupJunkie

It’s been a few months since I have done a HIT LIST, mainly because I have been so busy. This month I thought I would write one though to kick off the holiday shopping season. It is now November and the holiday shopping season has officially begun in the eyes of the stores and many customers. For most of us though we might want to wait until after Thanksgiving. I don’t have that luxury. I have been inundated with holiday loot all around, to review. This month’s HIT LIST are items that are all around great items to purchase because they are good performers and they would make great gifts/stocking stuffers.

1) L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara #LOREAL #Mascara #Voluminous #SuperstarMascara $10.99
L'Oreal Voluminous Superstar Mascara
L’Oréal”s First ever primer and mascara together for a show stopping effect. The super-volumizing lightweight primer builds up volume on every lash and creates an ultra smooth base to maximize the mascara’s impact. The fiber-rich black formula and curved brush mascara extends and lifts lashes to the extreme. Smudge-free, it removes easily with soap and water. It has been ophthalmologist tested and dermatologist tested. This mascara is suitable for sensitive eye and contact lens wearers. Comes in three shades (Blackest Black, Black and Black Brown) and a waterproof formula too!

I absolutely adore this mascara. It gives lashes a huge boost, especially my measly, puny lashes. They end up looking huge. I think this is one of their best mascaras in a long time. Available at mass market retailers wherever L’Oréal is sold!

2) Stri-Vectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner #StriVectin #Retinol $99.00
StriVectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner_1
StriVectin’s Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner claims that it can actually make the pores look smaller. It reduces the appearance of large pores and refines skin texture for a more smooth, even complexion.  They claim that with regular use of this product pores can look half their size.* It also refines the texture of the skin, smoothing it out for a more even complexion. It is a very lightweight pore-minimizing lotion and anti-aging moisturizer with Retinol that delivers both instant and long term visible pore reduction. 96% of the subjects who used it saw an immediate improvement in their visible pore size after one application.** Patented NIA-114TM technology nourishes the moisture barrier to provide visible age fighting efficacy as it limits the sensitivity commonly associated with Retinol use. This extremely effective blend purifies the skin and refines both skin tone and texture, all while delivering superior age fighting benefits to the skin. It also provides a mattifying effect to the skin as it is applied. It hydrates the skin, it absorbs excess oil to control shine throughout the day for a fresher, more youthful looking appearance. How does it work? Retinol actually improves cell turnover, exfoliating the skin to visibly diminish the look of pore size by purifying and refining the skin tone and texture.
*Based on technician evaluation after 8 weeks of use. **Based on technician evaluation.

I used this product for 8 weeks. Used it twice a day. What is so interesting about this product is that it gets used OVER sunscreen. Most products are used under sunscreen. I think it has to do with helping to reduce sensitivity to the retinol. Either way, it does work to reduce pore size. I did notice a reduction in week 4. With this product you get an immediate reduction that is noticeable and then you get the reduction that is noticeable a few weeks later. I feel that it does a pretty good job because I think that my pores look really good now. I still have some issues with them and always will but they are much better. I would say I got about a 40% reduction in pore size. I’ll take that. I also like that this cream has an instant mattifying effect on the skin. It can be purchased online at www.strivectin.com, www.skinstore.com, www.ulta.com, www.qvc.com and www.nordstorm.com. It can also be purchased at Ulta and Nordstrom stores.

3) Milani Amore Matte Lip Crème #Milani #AmoreMatteLipCreme $8.99
Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme

Milani is famous for their pigmented lipsticks. The Amore Matte Lip Crème is no exception. This pigmented matte lip color is gorgeous. The revolutionary, highly saturated liquid-to-matte formula dries to a soft, velvety finish for fuller, bolder looking lips. The applicator is plush, double sided and flexible to hug the contours of the lips, as it works to lock in bold, opaque color. This lip color is non-sticky, smooth and ready for all day and all night wear. This limited edition Amore Matte Lip Crème is the ultimate transfer resistant kiss-me-matte lip color.

The Amore Matte Lip Crème comes in 8 shades: Crush (warm brick brown), Adore (pink nude), Beloved (brown rose), Lust (cool rose), Embrace (deep reddish plum), Desire (bright red), Romance (deep red) and Flirt (deep vampy wine). I tried out a few of these shades and let me tell you, these colors wear well. They don’t come off easily. You can eat with them, drink with them and wear them all day long. I love how this product lasts throughout the day without coming off. It is a great matte shade but it is a little drying on the lips. I would wear a lip conditioner prior to putting this on. A good one.

Milani is available at mass market retailers nationwide, such as Walgreens, CVS, etc.

4) NYC New York Color Expert Last Lip LacquerNYC New York Color Expert Last Lip Lacquer #NYCNewYorkColor #ExpertLast #LipLacquer  $3.99
NYC New York Color Expert Last Lip Lacquer Tribeca Mocha
NYC New York Color Expert Last Lip Lacquer is a long-wearing, moisturizing lip color from NYC New York Color that has intense color payoff like a lipstick with the shine of a lipgloss. It is glamorous color that comes in 12 luscious shades. This product infuses lips with intense color, the precision applicator hugs lips tight while the rich yet lightweight formula glides color smoothly onto lips. It never feathers or bleeds. Lips stay hydrated, soft and very supple all day long. This lacquer is never sticky and it lasts almost the entire day. This formula has a texture that is light and creamy with color that is amazingly rich and has full coverage. Lips will not feel dry at all, but will feel comfortable all day long.  It defies the laws of lipstick/lipgloss.

I love how nice this product looks on my lips. The lip lacquer is very shiny and pretty, it wears for a very long time and does not get all gooey in the corner of my lips as some lipgloss does. The color is very strong, with good payoff. The applicator is nice too, it gets a good amount of color on the lips, you only need to put a couple of swipes of color on to get full coverage. It is true that these are not sticky, which is another big plus. I love that. These are very nice and I think they are one of NYC New York Color’s better products.

NYC New York Color Expert Last Lip Lacquer can be found at Wal-Mart, Target, CVS, Duane Reade, K-Mart and Family Dollar stores. You can read my full review here: http://bit.ly/1N4EfV3.

5) Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer #Jergens #WetSkin $7.99

Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Monoi Oil
Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer locks in 2x the moisturization in half the time* for amazingly luminous skin. Wet Skin Moisturizer contains a breakthrough new formula that blends with water when skin is most receptive to moisture, which is right when you step out of the shower or bath. Simply rub it in and pat dry for soft, moisturized skin. Enjoy the soft and smooth benefits of the monoi oil formula, wrap yourself in the scent of the Tahitian Gardenia flower. *2X the moisturization in a single application clinical study; 1/2 the time vs. ordinary lotion.

The way this product is used is different than a regular body lotion or body cream. This is used after you shower but while skin is still wet. Squeeze the product onto your hand (a dime size amount for each arm and a quarter size amount for each leg), apply to wet skin and massage in. Do this for the entire body. Do not rinse off. Then gently dry off your body by patting dry. You will find skin is moisturized, hydrated and smells divine. Monoi Oil comes from the Tahiti Gardenia and is heavenly. It is one of my favorite scents of all time and I love to smell it. It has a rich, deep floral scent that makes you want to be on a beach in paradise.

Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer can be found in nationwide in mass market retailers. See my full review here: http://bit.ly/1Pe5UYd.

So those are the products I have chosen for this month. I use a good number of different products each month and this month there were a great number of products I really liked but these stood out amongst the bunch. I think some of these would make great stocking stuffers or gifts to give. You never know, beauty junkies love things like this!

Until Next Time~
