Review: Kensington Apothecary Rose Cleansing Oil with Pure Rose Otto #RoseCleansingOil #cleanser #rose

Cleansing oils are becoming more and more popular as we are more exposed to Eastern skincare rituals, such as those of the Japanese and Koreans. They use a cleansing oil to remove makeup then another cleanse to cleanse their skin. Kensington Apothecary has their Rose Cleansing Oil with Pure Rose Otto as a preliminary cleanser. It can be used by itself to remove makeup and cleanse the skin or it can be used with another cleanser to start off the cleansing process.

The cleansing oil works by breaking down makeup, surface dirt, debris. It then  dislodges and encapsulates it, removing it from the skin. It is then washed away like any other cleanser. The best thing about the cleansing oil is that skin is left soft and supple instead of dry and tight. The natural moisture barrier of the skin is left intact. Even the most stubborn of makeup and oil is washed away, leaving skin feeling clean and soft.

To use, take a pumpful or two and smooth it all over your face, massaging for several minutes or until all the dirt, makeup and debris is loosened. Take a clean organic facecloth that has been soaked in warm water and spread it over the face, gently sweeping away all of the oil, grime, makeup, etc., until all traces of the cleanser are removes. Repeat as desired. you may follow up with another cleanser that  helps to cleanser skin more, if you feel you need it. But in all liklihood you will not. This cleanser does such a good job of getting rid of all the makeup, dirt and debris, that your skin will feel soft and supple. Follow up the cleanser with Kensington Apothecary Tonic, Skin Serum or Facial Oil.

I am so happy with how well this cleanser performs. For an oil based cleanser, it really does get rid of all of my makeup, dirt, grime and debris.  My skin feels amazing after using it. It is soft, supple and the natural moisture barrier is intact, which is unusual to say after cleansing the skin. I would recommend this product for those with dry, normal, combination and mature skins. I would not recommend this for oily or acneic skins. Even those it is oil based, and the  product does not seem comedogenic, oily and acneic skins need a different kind of cleanser.

Kensington Apothecary Rose Cleansing Oil retails for $24.00 (4 fl.oz./118 mL). It can be found online at www.kensingtonapothecary.com, at natural grocers and fine cosmetics retailers nationwide.  Like Kensington Apothecary on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kensington-Apothecary/345862822099593; Follow Kensington Apothecary on Twitter: @KApothecary; Follow Kensington Apothecary on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/kensingtonuk/ and Follow Kensington Apothecary on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kensington_apothecary/
