Weleda Natural Skincare has been around skin 1921. It is the first or one of the first, natural skincare lines on the market. Recently I was able to tr out a few products from the line and I am going to review them here. How do they compare to other natural skincare products on the market? How are they in general? I tried the Skin Food, Evening Primrose Age Revitalizing Day Cream, Evening Primrose Age Revitalizing Night Cream and the Wild Rose Deodorant. Read on below to learn about these products and to see what I think about them.
Weleda Skin Food 2.5 fl.oz./75 mL $19.00
Skin Food is a thick, rich cream/ointment that is used for rough, dry skin. It smooths, softens, moisturizes, restores and nourishes skin with plant oils such as pansy, chamomile and calendula extracts. It can be used anywhere on the body where skin is dry or rough. It is a unique, ultra-rich body cream that deeply hydrates restores and protects skin with nourishing plant oils and extracts. The essential fatty acids and Vitamin E in organic sunflower seed oil takes care of stubborn dryness on elbows, hand sand feet as pansy calms dry irritation. Soothing rosemary leaf extract's mild antiseptic properties and the anti-inflammatory properties of Biodynamic® and organic calendula flower extract gently nourish and care for dry skin. Deeply moisturized and protected, skin looks soft and supple with a healthy glow.
To use, just apply a small amount of Skin Food to rough skin as needed and massage into the skin until the ointment is absorbed. To deeply nourish hard-working, dry hands, apply liberally to hands then cover with cotton gloves and leave on overnight.
Skin Food is one of those creams/ointments that you need to keep in your house for the winter. It really does wonders on dry skin. My daughter suffers from dermatitis and this really helps. I have her do the glove treatment. She wakes up with smooth, red-free hands. The scaliness is gone and her hands are soft and supple again. I also use it when my hands get dry, just a touch of it makes them soft and supple again. I think it compares better to other similar products that I have tried. In fact, my husband used it today for a crack in his hand that needed to be healed.
Evening Primrose Age Revitalizing Day Cream 1 fl.oz./ 30 mL $38.00
Restore radiance to your skin. This day cream is 1% organic, vegan and gluten-free. It has been specially formulated to revitalize mature skin. It is anti-oxidant rich and intensely hydrating to the skin. It protects skin against environmental stressors, plumps it to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and stimulates skin's vital functions. The formula is rich in in evening primrose oil,which is high in essential fatty acids, that help to protect the skin's natural moisture barrier. Gotu-kola extract has been known to increase collagen production and provides support to the skin's structure. also enhances with inca nut oil, which is noted for its high Vitamin E content that helps to promote skin renewal. Packed with additional skin-nourishing and restoring ingredients this elegant day cream,will leave skin radiant, firm and smooth. For best results, use with the Age Revitalizing Eye & Lip Cream and the Age Revitalizing Night Cream. This cream, was tested after 28 days of use. It was found (in third party efficacy tests, after using the product twice daily for four weeks), to show a 77% improvement in skin tone and a 73% improvement in firmness.
I like this cream well enough, but I do feel that if you are going to put out an anti-aging cream for the daytime, it needs to have an SPF in it. That is my only caveat. It can be all natural, that is very easy, as there are mineral sunscreens that do the job. It is imperative that sun damage be stopped as that is the number one problem with aging to begin with. Otherwise this cream goes on velvety smooth and sinks into the skin, leaving it feeling soft and supple. This cream would be perfect if it had a sunscreen in it. Apply to cleansed skin in the morning, making sure to apply to face, neck and decollete.

The Evening Primrose Age Revitalizing Night Cream is a nourishing anti-oxidant rich moisturizer that helps to improve structure in as your sleep. It rejuvenates the skin's appearance and strengthens the skin's structure. The cream is 86% organic, it is vegan and gluten-free. The highly effective formula utilizes Weleda's holistic way of looking at plants and nature and 93-years of skincare knowledge to support the skin's restorative process throughout the night. This revitalizing cream contains Vitamin E rich wheat germ oil and inca nut oil to provide anti-oxidant protection against skin-damaging free radicals. This cream really does hydrate and moisturize the skin. 83% of those who used it saw smoother skin around the eyes. Skin feels soft, plump, firm and supple when This cream is used. Wild Rose Deodorant 3.4 fl.oz./100 mL $14.00
This lightly floral neutralizing and purifying deodorant works to keep you smelling naturally fresh while being safe and effective. It keeps you smelling great but does not stop your body from working naturally. It does not contain any aluminium. It works by taking residual odor from naturally detoxified skin that gets purified, neutralized and replaced by the tantalizing scent of this wonderful deodorant. it is an effective, non-aerosol spray that eliminates the sources of unpleasant body odor and leaves a luxurious floral aroma.
Organic rose leaf extract has some mild astringent properties that refresh and tone the skin while cleansing away impurities. Because there are no aluminum salts, the body's natural detoxification process is supported while bacteria that cause foul odors are neutralized. Spray as much as you want, because it is a natural product and it will make you smell beautiful all day long. As beautiful as a wild rose.
I was thinking that I would not like this product, because it was "natural". Just the opposite happened though. I love this product. I love smelling lik/e a rose all day. It is not cloying, like some perfumes. I don't perspire much in the winter, so this product is perfect during these months. I can use it and smell amazing all day long without using antiperspirants.
So, that is my take on the Weleda products I tried. Comparably they are one of the best natural lines on the market, because they have been doing it for so long. Also, they have a complete line of products, from skin care, to baby care, to body care, etc. They use sustainable ingredients and at the core of their mission is to make products that work to the best of their abilities while being as natural as and as organic as possible.
