Review: Kensington Apothecary Skin Serum #2 City Girl and Facial Oil #3 Pure Soothing #SkinSerum #FacialOil

(product photos courtesy of www.kensingtonapothecary.com)

Since I am an Esthetician, I know there are two things you need in your skincare regiment more than anything. These two things are a good skincare serum and a good facial oil. Kensington Apothecary makes very good versions of both of these items. So good in fact that I would call them best buys. Their Skin Serum #2 City Girl and Facial Oil #3 Pure Soothing are some of the best I have ever used. I would rank them up with the best on the market. Their products are 100% natural and fuse centuries old formulas with powerful actives that actually  work on the skin. One product I really like is the Sake Skin Detox Tonic. It will change your skin for the better.

Skin Serum #2 City Girl 1 fl.oz./30mL $33.00

Attention Urban Glamoristas! Are you up late, perhaps doing the rounds of the party circuit? Or are you just a night owl? Either way, this serum will help keep the bright nights and late nights from showing all over your face. Let it fight back with Kombucha and Silk Seed. Those kind of nights tend to leave their mark on your face, no matter what your age. You will look sallow, puffy, with a rough skin texture and dark circles. Avoid these with Skin Serum #2 City Girl. What you are actually witnessing is the destructive effects of protein glycation on your otherwise beautiful face. Fight those sugar blues with the aforementioned Kombucha and Silk Seed Extracts, then feel free to return to the party fresh faced and radiant.

Smooth a half dropper of serum all over a clean face and allow to dry. Avoid immediate eye areas. Include your neck and d├ęcolletage. Follow with the Facial Oil of your choice. Always use a broad spectrum sunscreen during the day.

This serum definitely works. Skin immediately looks better. It looks and feels refreshed.  This is for those of us who either don't sleep enough because we can't or don't want to. Wither way, we have something that will help make our skin look a little bit better. Pair this with Sake Skin Detox Tonic for the perfect skin pick me up.

Facial Oil #3 Pure Soothing 1 fl.oz./30mL $25.00

After you have taken care of your skin and it is now under control, you may find that it is a little irritated or sensitive from having been over exerted. What you need is a soothing facial oil, such as Soothing Facial Oil #3. This oil contains Schisandra Fruit Extract and Avocado Seed Oil to give your skin the break it needs to heal itself. Sensitive skin comes in all ages and subtypes. Skin can be irritated for a number of reasons: lifestyle, genetics, allergies, irritants and stress. The key is to calm it down so it can begin to heal itself. Schisandra Fruit Extract is anti-inflammatory, so it quiets down stressed skin. Avocado nourishes hyperactive skin with Vitamins A, D and E and fatty acid complex that is close to our own skin's natural lipid profile. So, take a deep breath, your skin will be okay.

Massage a few drops onto a clean face, using gentle, circular motions. Be sure to include your neck and d├ęcolletage as needed. Blot lightly before applying sunscreen and makeup. Personally I think this oil is better applied at night.

This oil is very soothing to the skin. It helps makes skin feel better, and thus look better. There is not as much redness to skin after using this for a while. The oil itslef is very calming and even has a calming scent. It even has Tsubaki oil, which is Japanese in nature and is known to be very soothing to the skin.
