Review: Making A Colorwear T-Shirt #Colorwear #Art #TShirt #artwear

Recently I was given the opportunity to do a Colorwear T-Shirt. I was given the chance to pick out a T-Shirt, choose the size, color and style of Colorwear design I wanted on the shirt. I choose this one: http://colorwear.com/products/fairy-12-t-shirt.html. In purple, in a 2XL. I chose the 2XL because normally I take an XL and I was not sure how the fitting is in these and I thought I would be safe this way. The shirt was huge. That's okay. It is my new nightgown. Actually, it kind of shrunk in the wash and now it is not as huge as it was. But it is still a nice nightshirt.

So, the Colorwear kit comes with the following:
  • T-Shirt
  • Set of 6 Tulip Fabric Markers
  • Stickers (Colorwear, The Mountain and Dog stickers)
  • A flat wipe-off board that goes under the t-shirt for coloring on.
  • Instructions

I started coloring my shirt and it took me about a good 3 full hours of coloring to finish the shirt. I did not do it all at once but in spurts. I did some shading, where I used two colors at once. I found that to be fun. I liked this project. I thought it was fun. I wanted my teenage daughter to do it with me but you know how fickle they can be. At first she wanted to but I could never get her to settle down and color. By the time she wanted to I was done.

I am very happy with the finished project. This is something I would love to give as a gift. I think this is something I would also do again. There is something therapeutic about doing it. Below is my finished project. After you finish you have to let it sit for 24 hours then you can wash it on cold and let it dry on low-medium. The color will not come out. These are great fabric markers. They really do a great job. You can see how detailed these shirts are. The drawings are very detailed, with lots of little things to color, all over. I love my fairy, she is yellowish-green with blue hair.

This T-Shirt comes in sizes S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL. They are dyed using organic dyes and with designs printed using soft, non-toxic water based inks. The T-Shirt comes in 6 colors: Barely Blue Dawn, Beeswax, Carnation, Tequila Lime, Wave and Half Iris. Half Iris is the color that I have.

I have to say that this was so much fun and I would love to do it again. Go visit Colorwear. Now.
