I recently received a box from derma e Purifying Skincare to try out and review. I was happy that this box came, because my skin was recovering from summer. During summer pores become clogged, skin breaks out and in general things go awry. Fall is a great time to clean up your act and get your skin back in shape so that you will have great skin during the fall, winter and spring months ahead. Let us start with the cleanser and work our way down...

derma e Purifying Gel Cleanser

This refreshing detox cleanser is meant to lather away sweat, oil and toxin buildup for a clean, refreshed, glowing complexion. Doctor developed and clinically tested, this fragrance-free, sulfate-free and pH balanced formula contains some of the most powerful minerals and natural toxin fighters from the earth and sea. Kimarine® Wakame is a potassium-rich, magnesium-rich seaweed that is clinically proven to protect skin against environmental pollutants (exhaust fumes, cigarette smoke, heavy metals). Bladderwrack is an antioxidant-rich, mineral-rich seaweed known for its water binding properties, supporting healty skin hydration and nourishment. Gently lather over face and neck, then rinse thoroughly with water. Use morning and evening. Follow with derma e Purifying Toner Mist and your favorite derma e moisturizer. 

I found it to be incredibly gentle for my skin, it is definitely not harsh. Even my daughter, who has sensitive skin, can use it without fear of it causing any irritation to her skin. This cleanser is one of those that looks like it would be harsh but in fact, it is quite the opposite. It is completely gentle on the skin yet powerful in that it takes out impurities and toxins from the surface and pores. I love this cleanser and go to it often because I find that my skin benefits from its powerful cleansing action.

Apply a small amount to wet or dry skin and gently massage in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry. Gentle enough for daily use.

I love how gentle this scrub is, yet how powerful it is. It has the same purifying power as the Purifying Gel Cleanser, so you know it is powerful. But add in the power of exfoliation and it gets even better. Not only are you getting rid of toxins, now you are getting rid of dead skin cells too, which clog pores, causing acne (pimples, pustules, blackheads and whiteheads). So this scrub gets rid of impurities and helps fight acne too. 

derma e Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask

Apply generously to clean facial skin, avoiding eye and lip area. Leave on for 5 minutes or until mask is completely dry. Moisten fingertips, then massage mask gently in a circular motion to activate exfoliants. Concentrate on areas of congestion such as nose, chin and forehead. Rinse thoroughly, or remove with a damp cloth. Pat dry. 

If your skin is problematic, or just needs some TLC, then this mask is for you. It really helps to clear skin up. The Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask gets rid of impurities and and exfoliates at the same time, much like a scrub but better. It has more ingredients in it that absorb impurities and that is where it differs from a regular scrub. This mask can help clear up active acne lesions and it can prevent new ones from forming. It also helps acne by getting rid of the debris that clogs pores, dead skin cells and sebum. I would highly recommend this to someone with acne or to someone who lives in an urban area, with lots of pollution, so that he/she can purify their skin often and get rid of the dirt and grime that comes with living in a city. For anyone else, it is a great mask to use once in a while to clear up your pores and suck out the impurities that we all have. 

derma e Purifying Toner Mist

Close your eyes and lightly mist over clean, towel-dried skin. Can be used on the face, neck, chest and back. Shake gently before using. 

This toner definitely refreshes skin. I also rebalances skin's pH level. After cleansing, using scrubs and masks, the pH level of the skin gets all out of whack. This toner brings it back to neutral where it needs to be. This way skin does not feel dry or tight. Skin feels back to normal. And since it contains the same purifying agents as the other products in the Purifying range, it helps the skin purify itself so that pollutants and other impurities stay out of the skin. Skin stays clean, refreshed and glowing. 

derma e Purifying Youth Serum

After cleansing and toning, dispense onto fingertips and apply to face and neck. May be used alone or as a treatment layer underneath other derma e moisturizers to enhance their effect. Can also be layered underneath makeup. 

As with the entire Purifying line, this serum has the ingredients that help keep the skin free of pollutants, it helps hydrate the skin, it prevents environmental damage from UVA and UVB rays, it prevents free radical damage and it prevents toxins from damaging the skin. It is a very powerful serum. This serum keep skin moisturized and promotes a glowing, younger looking complexion. 

Then entire derma e Purifying line is unique in that although it is for oilier, active and urban skin types, it can also be used by those with sensitive skins. That tells you that the ingredients in the products are not harsh. In fact, they detoxify without being harsh at all. The ingredients are strong, they act with force as they purify the skin to get rid of impurities, pollutants, dead skin cells and sebum that clog pores. The best part is that they are gentle too. Even my daughter, who has very sensitive skin, can use these products without fear that she will become red and irritated. That has never happened with any other line before. And we are talking about a 15 year old girl who occasionally breaks out and needs some purifying skincare. There is one more product I did not get to try out, derma e Purifying Oil-Free Moisturizer ($29.50). It also has the above ingredients that the purifying products have. It would make a great addition to the skincare regimen above, as any regimen needs a moisturizer.
