The Many Uses of Epsom Salts...
Epsom salts, or magnesium sulfate, can be used many different ways. They are used for medicinal purposes, beauty purposes, etc. Personally, I like to use them for beauty purposes. Epsom Salts, when used for medicinal purposes, are used to bring down swelling for an injury, to relieve inflammation, relieve bruising, treat poison ivy, stings and mosquito bites, pain or to help shrink tissues. When they are used for beauty purposes, can be used as bath salts, bath scrub, facial exfoliant, hair volumizer or foot scrub. They can also be used for vegetables, flowers, shrubs and houseplants, to help them grow. Today I will give you some recipes with epsom salts so that you can make beauty products at home with them.

Facial:
Mix 1/2 teaspoon of Epsom Salts into cleansing cream for a deep-pore cleansing. Massage on skin. Rinse with cool water. Pat dry.

Exfoliate:
Mix 2 cups Epsom Salts with 1/4 cup Petroleum Jelly and a few drops of lavender essential oil. Gently scrub away dry skin patches all over the body. Shower and rinse.

Natural Hair Volumizer:
Combine equal parts warm conditioner and Epsom Salts. Work the mixture through hair and leave for 20 minutes. Rinse.

Foot Scrub:
Mix 1/2 cup Epsom Salts in a tub of warm, soapy water to soften skin and calluses.

Relaxing Bath:
Add two cups of Epsom Salts to bath water in a standard size tub. Soak for at least 12 minutes, 3 times a week. For an extra treat, add drops of an essential oil, such as eucalyptus, lavender, chamomile, etc.

Aching Feet:
Soak feet in a cup of Epsom Salts with a tub of warm water.

I have tried a few of these out and found them to work very well. I like using Epsom Salts to help ease the pain away and to help with my beauty needs. They can be bought at any drugstore or mass market retailer.

Until Next Time~
