In the skincare realm, serums are the part of the regimen where you need to really use the most active ingredients, the best ingredients and also where you should concentrate more of your money. Serums are very valuable. They absorb into the skin easily and tend to contain ingredients that are more expensive and have smaller molecules that absorb deeper into the skin than other products.

If you have dry and dehydrated skin, like a lot of people do in the winter, then this product will be perfect for you. Dry skin is a little different from dehydrated skin. Dry skin is skin that doesn't produce enough lipids (sebum). Dehydrated skin is skin that has a loss of moisture in it. The two often go hand in hand but are not mutually exclusive. Dry skin is usually inherited while dehydrated skin is environmental. You can have dehyrated skin from using water that is too hot in your shower, using too many AHA's on the skin, from winter's dry air and the forced air heat in your home, etc. If the skin on your face is dehydrated that does not mean it will be on your body too, as is the same with dry skin.

La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum is rehydrating gel serum for long-lasting 24-hour hydration. The serum is especially made for dehydrated and dry skin types and is also suited for sensitive skins, but can be used for all skin types. It soothes, moisturizes and visibly plumps skin. The serum contains fragmented Hyaluronic Acid that infuses skin with water, moisture and helps to soothe dry and dehydrated skin. Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant that draws moisture into the skin and it is a molecule that can hold 1,000 times its own weight in water. It has a refreshing gel texture that is perfect for those with dry and dehydrated skin. Also, it has an immediate plumping effect on the skin.

Other ingredients in the serum are Arginine and Serine, which are also naturally present in the skin and these also help boost hydration. It also contains Anti-oxidant Thermal Spring Water to soothe the skin, as dry and dehydrated skin is often irritated and itchy.

This serum should be used daily, after cleansing and toning your face. Apply to the face and neck. Be sure to avoid the eye area. This serum is paraben-free. I have found this serum to be like a drink of water for the skin. If your skin feels thirsty, this will quench it. After using, skin feels soft and oh so plump. I really like how my skin felt after using it, especially since I have been having problems with dry and dehydrated skin this winter. I love anything with Hyaluronic Acid. It is a the ingredient to have if your skin is feeling oh so horrible.

La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum retails for $36.99 and can be purchased online at www.laroche-posay.us and at certain Walgreens locations nationwide. Like La Roche-Posay on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LaRochePosayUSA; Follow La Roche-Posay on Twitter:@LaRochePosayUSA; Follow La Roche-Posay on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/larocheposayusa/ and Subscribe to La Roche-Posay on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/user/LaRochePosayUSA.
