Ted Gibson and Laura Mercier – Get the Look – Pamella Roland NYFW #LauraMercier #NYFW #TedGibson #PamellaRoland

Below find the full beauty look for Pamella Roland’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection. Hair was styled by Ted Gibson, and the makeup look was created by Matin Maulawizada for Laura Mercier.

HAIR LOOK – CREATED BY TED GIBSON, LEAD STYLIST

Pamella Roland drew inspiration for her 2015 Spring/Summer Collection from The Gardens of Kyoto, Japan. To complement the designs, lead hair stylist Ted Gibson, created a modern hair look that paid homage to the fierce spirit of Japanese warriors and delicate beauty of Geishas.  "When you see this style from the front, it looks shiny and sleek, but the contrasting coiffed texture in the back amps up the edge-factor and makes it more modern,” Ted said. “Most importantly, it complements the beautiful designs and can be easily translated from the runway to your way.”

Step 1: Smooth and Sleek:

· First, Ted created a deep center part, starting at the forehead and continuing to the crown of the head. He then applied L’Oreal Professionnel Gelée Cashmere ($20) to the front of the hair, with L'Oreal Professionnel Texture Expert Perfect Shimmer Shine Illuminating Mist ($23) for added high shine.

Infiniti Pro by Conair 3Q

· Next, he smoothed it using the Infiniti Pro by Conair 3Q (119.99). According to Gibson, “Sleek looks at Fashion Week can be risky because models have already had their hair styled at previous shows.  You never know what you are going to be working with and you have limited time for styling. The Infiniti Pro by Conair 3Q is critical for this look because it is powerful, and allows me to create ultra-smooth looks quickly, without damaging the models’ hair.”

Step 2: Unexpected Chic Ponytail:

· Ted tucked the smooth hair behind the ears and secured at the nape of the neck with an elastic. Before securing, Ted added extensions to the ponytail for a fuller, longer look.

· He then used his fingers to tease hair and increase volume on the lower half of the head. For added texture, Ted used L’Oreal Professionnel Fresh Dust Hair Powder ($19), which gives the bottom section a different feel than the top and adds a slightly lighter look, reminiscent of the white powdered faces of Geishas.

MAKEUP LOOK CREATED BY MATIN MAULAWIZADA FOR LAURA MERCIER

Pamella Roland’s inspiration for her 2015 Spring/Summer collection stemmed from “The Gardens of Kyoto Japan.” As an ode to Japan and cherry blossoms, lead makeup artist, Matin Maulawizada for Laura Mercier, created a fashion-forward monochromatic look. He was inspired by a “Geisha-esque” image of American model Guinvere van Seenus photographed by Steven Meisel. The final look was “effortless, but dramatic.”
