Recently I had the opportunity to test out some new skincare products that I had actually been wanting to try for a long time. I am a member of iFabbo and I was able to test out the Rodan + Fields Acute Care Redefine Regimen. Rodan + Fields are the creators of the extremely successful Proactiv acne treatment line. They have a prestige skincare line called Rodan + Fields.
The Stanford University trained dermatologists behind the line are Dr. Katy Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields, two internationally recognized doctors who know how to treat and correct acne with the proper ingredients. Their skincare lines have helped thousands of people worldwide, allowing people to have self-confidence and self-esteem again. When you have severe acne, your self-esteem and self-confidence plummet and you don’t feel good about yourself. Treating acne is essential to help people get back their self-esteem and self-confidence. It is not about being shallow or superficial. People need and deserve to feel good about themselves. When people have more self-confidence and self-esteem they work better, do well in school, do well socially and are happy with themselves.
Rodan + Fields Acute Care Redefine Regimen consists of various types of products based on the issues you have, namely aging skin, acneic skin and hyperpigmentation. The regimen I tried is specifically for aging skin. I have actually been thinking of selling this line, so I was ecstatic about trying it out.
The regimen consists of the following products: Redefine Daily Cleansing Mask, Pore Minimizing Toner, Triple Defense Treatment SPF 30, Overnight Restorative Cream and Acute Care Skincare for Expression Lines. Redefine is specifically treatment for the appearance of lines, loss of firmness and to help pores look smaller. Based on Multi-Med Therapy (the use of multiple types of medicine to treat acne), Redefine combines clinically effective levels of active cosmetics and OTC ingredients to help defend against and reduce the visible signs of aging for noticeably firmer, smoother and flawless looking skin. The Redefine regimen products come together with the four main products. Let me start discussing the products and how they perform. The products build on each other, so to get the best results it is recommended to use all of the products in the regimen together.
Redefine Daily Cleansing Mask is a little bit different than a normal cleanser. This product is more of a mask. Cleanse skin of all makeup first prior to using this. Then apply this to the face with wet fingertips onto dry skin (quarter sized amount). Let dry for 2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and then dry face. Skin will be smooth, soft and exfoliated. This product contains kaolin, titanium dioxide, bentonite, and Vitamin E. It is a creamy clay based cleansing mask that draws out impurities from pores without taking the skin’s moisture. Small dimethicone microbeads gently exfoliate the skin without disrupting the skin’s moisture barrier. I like how this exfoliates. I wish that this came with a regular cleanser but this is a good alternative and it does do a good job of exfoliation. Good exfoliation is key to making skin look younger. Layers of dead skin cells built up on the face make the skin look older and keep products from penetrating the skin.
Redefine Pore Minimizing Toner has an exclusive combination of ingredients that clear up debris from pores and help with enlarged pores. It is an alcohol-free toner that acts fast. Gentle poly-hydroxy acids exfoliate pore-clogging dead skin cells from the skin while natural oligosaccharides help reduce the appearance of large pores. It also preps skin for treatments to follow. Poly-hydroxy acids are as effective as alpha hydroxy acids but are less irritating to the skin. I like how this really does exfoliate the skin quickly. You can feel this toner working, it is very refreshing. It contains lactobionic acid, citric acid and sodium hyaluronate (a humectant). This toner is great. I normally don’t use toner, but this is one I like a lot.
The Redefine Triple Defense Treatment SPF 30 moisturizes the skin and helps protect against sun damage all at once. The sunscreen is a broad spectrum SPF 30 with Avobenzone 3%, Homosalate 2.5%, Octisalate 5% and Octocrylene 2.7%. SHIELD sunscreen technology combines stabilized Avobenzone with free radical fighting colorless carotenoids for effective photostable broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. It helps to visibly decrease the signs of photoaging that appear over the years. Wearing this cream is a pleasure. It goes on easily and sinks into the skin immediately. Keep away from eyes, as it does irritate them. Wear on face, neck and décolletage. Optical brighteners minimize the appearance of skin flaws while protectant ingredients provide moisturization. This is a great way to start your skin out for the day. It also contains Resveratrol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Olive Fruit Extract, and peptides. I am loving this daytime moisturizer. I'm glad it has a sunscreen, which is essential to prevent sun damage and it makes the skin look younger while wearing it (optical brighteners). It also helps to decrease the signs of aging, which is a good essential to have in a daytime treatment.
At night, use Redefine Overnight Restorative Cream. This is an ultra-hydrating cream that replenishes skin’s natural moisturizing factors (NMF’s) during sleep. Skin becomes firmer and fine lines disappear. It contains peptides and niacinamide that have been clinically proven to help minimize the appearance of wrinkles and firm up the skin. A moisture-recycling complex of hyaluronic acid and glycerin helps prevent moisture loss. A combination of 12-hour, time-released anti-oxidants A, C and E help replenish vital skin nutrients. I like this cream very much and feel that it does a great job of making skin look and feel better. It has good ingredients that help the skin to look and feel younger. Peptides are an essential part of a good anti-aging regimen and it also has humectants to keep moisture in the skin. That is one complaint as we get older, moisture loss is so common. This can be combined with the Rodan + Fields Night Renewing Serum from the Acute Care + Redefine Amp It Up Special Regime.
Finally, the Redefine Acute Care Regimen has a specialized treatment product called Redefine Acute Care Skincare for Expression Lines with Liquid Cone Technology. Use this at night in conjunction with Redefine Overnight Restorative Cream. It should be used only only on wrinkles and expression lines. Use on clean skin, do not apply moisturizer or eye cream to the area to be treated. This product contains hyaluronic acid and SH-oligopeptide-1. For best results every three days for one month. How well does it work? Very well. This does help make expression lines disappear. I have one area, the furrow between my brow, that is starting to look more prominent. I used the pads on the brow furrow lines and found that the lines did start to disappear after just a few times.

Prior to using the regimen, my skin had hyperpigmentation, the start of a brow furrow and some slight texture issues. After I used the regimen for a month my skin has started to be more firm (it was firm before but now it is definitely firmer than before), the slight brow furrow has disappeared and the hyperpigmentation has decreased. This regimen does not address pigmentation specifically, as there is another regimen for that purpose, but the ingredients in this regimen do work on pigmentation too. The poly-hydroxy acids and peptides help to decrease pigmentation. Used daily this regimen will help with anti-aging issues and it will prevent new aging issues from occurring.
