Block Island Organics Purifying Facial Cleanser 4 fl.oz./120 mL $19.79
This cleanser is an anti-oxidant loaded, vitamin rich, organic and natural formula. It cleanses and freshens skin with gentle botanicals. Cleanse skin day and night to removes impurities, makeup, dirt and debris. Some of the ingredients in this formula are: rosehip, chamomile, sunflower, burdock, avocado and olive. Combined they purify the skin while maintaining the natural lipid balance. This cleanser is suitable for all skin types. The formula does not contain any parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, phthalates, dyes or artificial fragrances. It was not tested on animals and the formula is vegan.
I like how well this formula cleanses my skin without stripping the skin of its natural moisture barrier. My skin feels clean and refreshed but does not feel dry afterwards. This cleanser is a an excellent product. It does a great job of cleansing skin without any harsh ingredients. You cannot ask for anything more than this.
Block Island Organics Revitalizing Night Cream 2 fl.oz./60 mL $26.99
A night cream should provide anti-aging protection and prevention. And it does not have to have harsh ingredients to do this. The Revitalizing Night Cream has a good number of organic ingredients that are botanical in nature. It is packed with anti-oxidants like Vitamins C and E. This cream helps to nourish the skin. Vitamin C is known for its anti-aging properties, to fight off free radicals. And a recent study by Yale University dermatologists found that Vitamin E protects against the effects of sun exposure long after the sun has gone down. This cream has botanicals such as: cocoa butter, calendula, rosehip, avocado, aloe vera, jojoba and blueberry to name a few. It is extremely moisturizing, leaving skin feeling very soft. This cream is for all skin types. The formula does not contain any parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, phthalates, dyes or artificial fragrances. It was not tested on animals and the formula is vegan. This cream can also be used during the day.
I found this cream to be utterly delightful. It is light yet sinks into the skin and leaves it feeling well moisturized. Skin is left feeling very soft and nourished. Because it is so light, a heavy greasy film is not left on the skin.
Block Island Organics Natural Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 3.4 fl.oz./100 mL $17.99
This sunscreen is an ultra-light natural mineral sunscreen that works great for sensitive skin. It's made with organic and natural ingredients. This sunscreen provides broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection to prevent sun damage and premature aging. A small amount goes a long way. This sunscreen in particular contains only 22% zinc oxide as this is the safest and best UV filter. It is easily spreadable and is lightweight yet moisturizing. This cream is perfect for babies, kids and adults. It does not contain any parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, phthalates, dyes or artificial fragrances. It was not tested on animals and the formula is vegan. The formula is also gluten-free.
While I like the fact that this is a mineral sunscreen and is natural, the only bad thing I have to say about this is that the zinc oxide in this makes it leave a white film on the skin that is kind of hard to spread out and does not want to absorb into the skin. It just left a very light film on the skin. I think that if this product had a combination of zinc oxide and titanium oxide it would have been a better product. A 22% zinc oxide sunscreen is very hard to spread out and absorb into the skin. It is almost like having pure zinc oxide. I love the idea behind this product it just did not work out for me as well as I had hoped. This would work out for those who need a natural sunscreen though and who are very sensitive to chemical sunscreens. There are very few natural, mineral sunscreens on the market and I would hate to not recommend one that is already on the market and that does work. I am just relaying my experience. This is a good product for all skin types, but especially if you have sensitive skin this would work out for you. I prefer a mineral sunscreen over a chemical one because it reflects the sun's rays off of the skin rather than absorbing them (as to what a chemical sunscreen does).
