Review: PanOxyl 4% Acne Creamy Wash and 10% Acne Cleansing Bar #PanOxyl, #Acne

PanOxyl is a company that knows a thing or two about acne control. They have a patented system for treating acne that is not responding to other methods. Their products contain benzoyl peroxide, which, when used correctly, can treat acne that is moderate to severe. Benzoyl peroxide is a prophylactic (preventative) that helps to keep acne lesions from forming and it also helps acne lesions that have already formed. If you have questions about what acne is or why it occurs, see my post on acne: http://bit.ly/1jCKE13. I have treated acne for the past 20 years. The PanOxyl products are all recommended by many dermatologists.

Benzoyl peroxide is not the best treatment option for everyone, but it works great for many people. It works by killing acne bacteria and exfoliating skin to clear the pore (hair follicle). The main thing to remember when using this medication is that you need to give it time to work, acne does not go away overnight. It will bleach fabrics, so be sure to use a white towel after washing your face or body parts with the 4% Acne Creamy Wash or 10% Acne Cleansing Bar. It can by drying. If it dries your skin out, switch to an every other day or only once a day routine. Benzoyl peroxide works quite well at killing acne bacteria and helping to prevent new lesions from forming. It needs to be used consistently to work well though.

PanOxyl 4% Acne Creamy Wash $12.49

PanOxyl 4% Acne Wash
This is a daily face wash that contains 4% benzoyl peroxide. It clears existing acne blemishes and helps to prevent new ones from forming. The wash penetrates pores to kill acne bacteria on contact. This wash has a patented acne control formula. It is suitable for acne is occurs on the face, neck, chest and back. If dryness occurs, use less often. I had my daughter try this out. She had some acne lesions (mild actually but we wanted to get some feedback). Her skin is actually quite normal with just a few lesions scattered here and there. The wash worked well for her, clearing up the lesions within a day or two. She did not want any pictures of her skin here but suffice it to say, she was happy with the results. Her acne was caused by the change in seasons, which is normal for many people. Extra sebum is often produced in summer and that sebum can get impacted in the pores with dead skin and bacteria, causing lesions.

PanOxyl 10% Acne Cleansing Bar $7.99

PanOxyl 10% Acne Bar
This cleansing bar is a deep cleansing bar with the highest amount of benzoyl peroxide available without a prescription. It clears up existing acne blemishes and prevents new ones from forming. The medicine quickly penetrates pores to kill acne bacteria on contact. It is great for use on the face, neck, chest and back. As with the face wash, if dryness occurs, use less often. I had my husband use this on his back, which had moderate acne lesions occur over the summer. The lesions only occur during the summer because he has issues with more sweat, sebum and hair on his back. All of this leads to pustules that occur every summer. Using this bar on his back cleared up the lesions quickly, within a few days. Benzoyl peroxide is an excellent way to get pustules clear as it kills acne bacteria immediately. Using it daily helps to prevent them from reoccurring. My husband was very happy with the cleansing bar and would definitely use this again next summer.
