Review: Shiseido Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 #Shiseido #SynchroSkin #Foundation

Some of you may know me as the “foundation queen”. I have hundreds of foundations because I have been searching for just the “right one”. It is because I am crazed. In my crazed beauty quest I am obsessed with finding the perfect foundation. It may not even exist. I love foundation. It is the base in which we set all the rest of our makeup. The basis for which our face shows itself to the world. Good skin shows up looking amazing through the right foundation and well, bad skin can only look so good in any foundation. It is important to take care of your skin because makeup can only hide so much. Foundation is a very important step in the makeup process.

I am extremely pale, so pale that finding the perfect shade of foundation is almost impossible for me. I go around daily with this yellow face and white neck. Yes. I dislike it. I try to mask it with powder but there is only so much that powder can do. I have pretty good skin and really do not need foundation to the extent that I only wear it to cover up my freckles. I like to have a porcelain finish.

Today I want to talk about Shiseido’s new foundation, Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20. This foundation is new for spring. It is oil-free with a broad spectrum SPF 20 that comes from Octinoxate 2.9% and Titanium Dioxide 2.4%. The Octinoxate is a chemical sunscreen while the Titanium Dioxide is a mineral sunscreen. If you are sensitive to chemical sunscreens, this foundation will not be good for you. However, it is good that this foundation has at least a broad spectrum sunscreen that works to deflect UVA/UVB rays.

It is a long-lasting foundation that beautifully enhances the complexion. Skin’s clarity is maintained while preventing shine, creasing and fading is prevented all day long. It is flawlessly undetectable and looks better than bare skin alone. The innovative formula has medium, buildable coverage with a matte, natural finish that feels airy and silky on the skin. It has been formulated with Advanced Sensing Technology that creates a dynamic synchronization with the condition of your skin for a beautiful look. Mother of Thyme Extract helps to prevent skin damage that is caused by oxidation*. St. John’s Wort Extract helps to prevent roughness of the skin*. It comes in 11 shades: (N1) Neutral 1, (N2) Neutral 2, (N3) Neutral 3, (N4) Neutral 4, (R2) Rose 2, (R3) Rose 3, (R4) Rose 4, (G2) Golden 2, (G3) Golden 3, (G4) Golden 4 and (G5) Golden 5. This foundation is noncomedogenic and has been dermatologist tested.

The best way to use this foundation is to shake well before use and apply after using skincare regimen. Smooth on evenly from the center of the face outward and build to your desired coverage with additional layers. I have tried using this two ways: with a beautyblender and with a foundation brush. Either way works very well. I think that the foundation brush worked great but the beautyblender also did a fabulous job. It all depends on how you like your coverage. The foundation brush will give your fuller coverage immediately and the sponge will have you build up the layers.

I tried two colors of the foundation: N1 Neutral 1 and R2 Rose 2. Both shades looked pretty good on my skin. I am lucky enough that I can wear neutrals and cool tones equally well. I can also wear warm tones but the foundation has to be very light. My base skin tone is neutral. The N1 Neutral 1 looked very good on my skin, melding well with my skin. Thankfully it did not look like I had a orangey-yellow face and white neck while wearing this foundation. The same can be said of R2 Rose 2. This shade is a cooler shade but is still very light. My skin did look a bit more pink while wearing this foundation. What I like about this foundation is that it is a long-lasting foundation. It lasts all day long on the skin, has medium to full buildable coverage and makes skin look fantastic. This foundation covers well, has a matte finish that you really don’t even need powder for and looks amazing on the skin. It is definitely a keeper. See below for photos of N1 Neutral 1 and R2 Rose 2 on my face. It does not look like a mask or anything, but a very natural look.
